Never heard your story man. Very fascinating to hear that you were completely self taught and managed to land a position in a quant firm. It kind of shows that people don't necessarily need to go to university for all of that stuff to wind up in quantitative finance. Just need to put in the work.
What a great collab!!
great vid - also Dan is so effortless and CJ’s so sincere
With the pet project I will also add employers don't want them to be overly complicated but barely functioning. Simpler projects that are robust and maticulously tested and documented is much, much more appealing.
WTF THE COLLAB BETWEEN MY 2 FAV CHANNELS
great questions
TL;DR: have a high IQ, have thousands of hours of positive social experiences, do a hard STEM degree
Oh what a good collab. My favorite channels unite!
incredible conversation, I am finishing my degree in finance and have started delving into solving financial problems using python . Such conversations show I am on the right track. Keep up the good work.
Really learnt a lot from your video! Particularly your clarification and explanation on the differences between the roles in quant. You went in depth into what Quant Researchers and Devs do. Could you explain in the same way you did for the other two what Quant Traders work on?
Hi coding jesus, you said that you had a business degree so does that mean you learnt all of this programming, maths, stats e.t.c knowledge required for quantitative finance by yourself? If yes how did you learn it and do top tier quant hedge funds employ people who did not have a bachelors in cs/math?
Awesome collab!!
This is great content. I have a question: from what I've seen, fundamental analysis is very important, and technical analysis is not necessary?
GOAT ft.GOAT
On the same path of trying to break into the self taught HFT space...nearly impossible in Europe and this fucked up market... in my country they are still too focused on degrees and not professional merit...
Ma two favorite channels
