@jemf999

According to Wikipedia: " As of 2009, she received a direct payment from the local authority for her care needs, which enabled her to employ five female carers to help her with the routine activities of daily living". No doubt those five carers greatly increase her tolerability of SMA. Many people with disabilities receive not one!

@jemf999

DON'T REMOVE MY COMMENT THIS TIME!
As mother to a 37-year old with SMA who is completely incapable of doing anything for herself, I wish to disagree with the Baroness. We live in Spain, where the association Derecho a Morir Dignamente has been active for many years, helping many with ALS, MS, and even SMA to accomplish their goal when they no longer wished to live. A year ago the Law was approved in parliament. The process of approval when the time comes is not made easy. My daughter and I believe that if a person wishes to carry on living - if they consider their life tolerable - then that is fine. If not, it is their own choice.

@justchaz.

Nothing against the Baroness but that title "War in Ukraine Leaves 2.7 Million Disabled People at Risk" is lol worthy Bloomberg. None of this energy for Iraqis then. We were urged to think of Abu Ghraib as a reality of war; perpetuated on deceit.

@MARK-ez1iv

Why you guys were sleeping when civilians were being killed in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria?

@davidli3582

Why is she wearing a CPAP while awake?
