Amazing to see cars with interiors, not computer screens!!
I own and regularly drive a 2004 Concorde. The rarity of it alone is enough for me to keep it, but it's also whisper quiet and surprisingly fast(3.5L). I definitely have no plans to sell or replace it anytime soon.
I had a 2002 300M Special back in the day. One of the best cars I’ve ever had. Had a 1995 Intrepid ES before that. I’ve got a loaded 2019 300C Hemi now.
I happen to know a lot about these LH sedans and there’s some very interesting history behind the 300m. Eagle was of course making the Vision in its first gen but the 300m was supposed to be the 2nd gen Vision. It was so far along in development that they had already shipped out a couple test mules to Europe before Eagle was axed so instead of throwing away all that R&D on a production ready model, they decided to delay the launch til 1999 (it was originally set to debut along side the Intrepid and Concorde in 1998) and essentially stuck Chrysler badges on it and decided to continue the 300 letter series cars with M. If any of you get to have the chance to look around at a 300m, you can lift up the trunk carpet and it will say Eagle on the part supplier tag instead of Chrysler.
Wonderful, wonderful cars. A rare treat to see them on the road today however… I was drawn to the allure of the 2nd gen LHS as a 10 year old, which led me to buying my 2003 300M as my first car. Still have it all these years later. Long live the LH cars!
I bought a '98 Concorde Lxi from my Uncle's estate. It was three years old and only had three thousand miles on it, so essentially a new car. It was loaded with every option you could possible imagine for 1998. I put over 200,000 miles on it and was one of the best cars I ever owned. On top of all that, in my opinion it was a beautiful car.
I still own a 2000 lhs Rides like a land yacht Love her
The 300M was an underrated car imho, I've driven one for two months after I had also driven an automatic Eagle vision for a similar period of time. The 300M was surprisingly well mannered at low speeds, though could really be quite fun at higher speeds and had much more stability and roadfeel than the typical barges they had on offer at chrysler as well (read LHS and Concorde). It wasn't at the same level of handling as the late first gen Audi S8 I drove, but remarkably close and in truth a very good contender to the Cadillac STS (which I've also driven...the life of a car collector and dealer never ends)
The 1993-1997 LHS with a V6 experienced peak torque at 2800 rpm. My buddy had one, it was the definition of a sleeper.
Love it! I was obsessed with those 300m's back in the day. The 2nd gen Intrepid was my first car and I Loved it!
It’s hard to overstate how RADICAL these cars looked when first introduced. But the novelty wore off VERY quickly.
I personally always liked the looks of the cars in this era, similar to the late 60's early to mid 70's Dodge/Plymouth/Chryslers. They had the LOOK!
I think the Concorde and LHS were never sold in Europe, but the 300M was. I bought my own 2 months ago and I love it. A sporty luxury sedan that has a powerful engine with autostick gear. Looks nice both outside and inside with very nice looking leather seats. Has good gasmileage too, so its really good bang for the buck ! 😊
The last American sedan with 6 seats was the W-body Impala 👍
My family had a few of these. Two intrepids. One with the 2.7 🤮 and two with the 3.2. We also had the Concorde LXi with the 3.2. My personal favorite was the in intrepids with the 3.2. They were great highway cruisers. They had more of a solid sport ride. The Concorde LXi was more quiet and “luxurious”. In my opinion the 3.2 and 3.5 were great engines with enough power and a good sound.
Mean BMW was developing the E39 which is one of the greatest vehicles of all time where marketing and styling took a back seat to engineering as it should be.
There is one thing you forgot to mention that is the LH platform was a longitudinal engine and front-wheel drive
The 300 m was amazing omg a hiway runner that handled and was so solid and pretty dam quick
i love my '99' 300M it just turned 88,000 miles and has been garage kept and never seen so much as an ice cube on the road during the winter months. it's in near showroom condition top to bottom, front to rear. anybody that craps on these cars more than likely didn't maintain them on a regular basis. the rear lights are back up lights to let people know theres a car moving in reverse. my 300M does have fog lights, it also has the performance handling package which includes a rear deck spoiler.that gives it a sportier look. i still have the window sticker, it sold for just under $29.000. there's no way in hell i would have any GM product from those years. certain fords, yes. the 300 drives like any euro would drive, seeing how mercedes had a hand in its design.and it's got the juice where it counts at highway speeds. just today i was at 75 MPH i eased my foot down and was quickly over 100 with plenty more pedal to go. these cars are really fun to drive. You are correct there are not many of these left on the road. every now and again ill get the occasional guy that has to stop and talk to me about it. thanks for the video i always enjoy watching the history on these chryslers. on a final note i also have a 2006 town and country with 227,000 miles on the clock it's still getting me from point A to point B.
