I thought that Novak's era was over, but he proved me wrong today (24/5/2025). The guy just keeps proving everyone wrong over and over again. He truly is extraordinary. Easily the greatest athlete ever. We should all feel privileged for being here to witness.

Nadal can only say it now because he’s retired. It’s understandable. He couldn’t say it before when he hasn’t retired and trying so work hard to come back. Tennis is all mentality. If you think Djokovic is the best no one can beat him and you’re in the top ATP that means you don’t believe you can beat him. It’s like what Djokovic said a long time ago that he believes he can beat Nadal in Clay. A lot of the players now don’t have the mentality like Rafael, Roger, and Novak.

Nadal lost a combined 5 plus years of his career due to injuries....5 freaking years and still won 22 slams, 36 masters 1000, olympic golds, etc. A freak of nature IMHO.

When the passions subside, Nadal is very honest, sincere and fair play. Worthy of all respect. Of course, I also think that Novak is the best ever and that it will be very difficult to surpass his records. But let's be realistic and let's pay tribute to Nadal as well. Because Nadal's game was a perfect stimulus for Novak to be better. You can't be big among the little ones. You can only be great among the great.
