Great seeing you again. ❤
Thanks for that useful and poignant comparison. I am a medium and shamanic practitioner. I see many similarities to power loss and soul retrieval in depth psychology concepts. I see both as not as models but as logical responses to empirical observations of symptoms. I or spirit see effects, then retrace their resultant ripples back through time, often guided by symbols which weave together pointing up their cause—the original wound. Then we can move forward in time and see how the wound forced the client to adapt to what it is they want in life, which is usually inexplicably out of reach. Waypoints along the path from the past forward until the present begin to form constellations, which become a narrative the client usually understands. When they see the original wound’s relation to their shadow’s activity, they can begin to deal with it consciously as if from a third person point of view. That psychic distance provides some valuable breathing room.
