small info for people out there who don't know about it: If you have Charge Limit set to less than 100 percent, your iPhone will occasionally charge to 100 percent to maintain accurate battery state-of-charge estimates.
Best advice i can give is don’t read too much into it ie battery usage cycles and whatnot. At the end it is a device. Treat it as is.
I’ve learned a lot about battery health since I got my iPhone 16 Pro but I gotta say this is the best video I’ve ever seen on the topic, super informative and helpful! Gonna be showing this to my parents
As a truck driver, the iphone is in a magsafe carcharging holder on the dashboard all day long. As it is keeping charged all day long I've set the charge limit to 80%. It is also sitting in the sun all day long, but the phoneholder mounts to the ac output vent. On warm / hot sunny days the a/c is blowing cold air directly on the phone. Have an iPhone 16 pro max now for half a year and still have 100%. I buy a new phone every 2 years and than you dont have to worry about battery health anyway. But when you plan to use your phone as long as possible, then you need to take care for your battery. I used my old iphone 12 the same way and that one isn't able to set a charge limit. Is at 82% battery health at the moment 😂
You guys like my iPad drawing to explain how the battery works? 🤣
My iPhone 12 Pro Max dropped after 2 years to 91% after not to much care about battery, but iPhone 15 Pro dropped to 95% afer 1 year of charging to 80%. So conclusion is simple: dont care about battery and change it when Service message will be showing at 79%
Brandon, Thanks for such an informative dive into this battery. Never seen such clarity--thanks for that. Lots of people to share this with. Well-done!
Wow, thanks for the information. I will pass this on to my friends in the UK. My battery percentage is on 100% with 22 cycles. I’ve had my phone, iPhone 16 plus, 3 months.
I have an iPhone 12 capacity at 92% and iPhone 16 plus at 100% and 45 cycle great video as always
Safe to say your no nonsense video is a must watch.
No bright white background again. LETS GOOO Thank You!!! If this continues this will be my go to channel for everything Apple Instead of IDeviceHelp.
100%. iPhone 16 Pro purchased in October 2024. Using normally without much crazyness, using only Apple original charger (20w and 30w) and Apple genuine USB-C cable. 208 cycles.
2:11 if you don't have an iPhone 15 or newer you can enter Diagnostics Mode (shut down iPhone, then hold both volume buttons, plug into power and release volume buttons wen Apple logo appears). Then run a test on the battery and afterwards it will tell you all this information that iPhone 15 shows.
My iPhone 15 Plus is 11 months old. Its battery health has dropped to 87% with 311 charge cycles. According to the settings, the battery is rated for up to 1000 charge cycles. I’ve always charged it following Apple’s recommendations
About the 20% thing. I assume the phone is smart enough to have a buffer and doesn’t really let you discharge all the way to zero.
I have used my iPhone 14 for 2 Years 20 Days and still counting with 867 Charge Cycles sitting at 82% Battery Health which turned out much better than Apple's claimed 80% capacity at 500 Charge Cycles for iPhone 14 series and below. I only cared about 2 things - Never letting my Battery Percentage go below 20% daily and Not letting my iPhone heat since I play games like PUBG Mobile so I bought a phone cooler to keep it cool which I also sometimes use while charging in summer days.
My iPhone 15 is about two years old. It’s at 89% health with 339 cycles. All charging on cable with a 20 watt charger. I use a 90 percent charge limit.
After one year my 14 Pro Max still has 100% battery health. I never charge to full 100%, mostly around 90% and I never let the battery ran out under 25%. I mostly have to charge around 36-48hrs, with around max 2 hour screen time per day.. I think the battery life depends on different factors.
Never miss a new video and still waiting for iOS 19 🎉
