@yichen-ti6vv

Germany was a participant in the colonial era and the initiator of two world wars, but now it is calling others dictatorial and barbaric? It's so shameless

@user-9qGdfBTprb

How can Germany, one of the countries that invaded Beijing in 1900, have the nerve to criticize Chinese imperialism? This is disgusting double standards. I hate the hypocrisy of Europeans more and more.

@JL050

China is the imperialist but last I checked, it doesn't have any bases or military presence around the US. So who are the real imperialists?

@abbymelcoffee1813

Now you know why China has the most strict ban on drug uses now, lesson learned the hardest way

@dwchen1

China's response to Trump's Trade War :
"We don't care because China has survived for over 5000 years and most of the time there's no United States around and we expected to survive for another 5000 years".

@橘子皮-j9i

He forgot to inform people that Germany once had its own colonies in Shandong, China, especially near Qingdao. German officers had served as the commanders of eight countries and had captured Beijing. His country did not apologize either. Innocent German good people once again condemned the barbaric China.

@a2-bm6vo

It is incredible how much China had suffered and still survived. Hat off

@chaosland5325

The UK still thinks Hong Kong somewhat belongs to the UK. Lol. They wanted to colonize China but failed.

@jriri355

People always say that the Chinese Communist Party is not good enough. OK. Then can you name a political party with better political achievements? Can it lead 1.3 billion poor and backward people to become one of the most important voices in the world in a few decades? Please give an example.

@Fu-2-Dai

As a Taiwanese,we believe we are akso Chinese,we will unify with mainland China Again, it's sad and piti, The Western always hope both parties have war again. This is the reason USA support the Taiwan Independent party.

@kxa1094

Why do you consider China’s efforts to maintain military influence in the South China Sea and East China Sea as imperialism? The areas surrounding these regions are crowded with American military bases. Would you want someone else’s arsenal right next to your own home?
To make matters worse, the United States is still threatening Beijing with Taiwan Province, and your video clearly mentions that the Taiwan Province administration was the government of the Republic of China that failed in the civil war in 1949. Imagine what the people of the United States would think if another superpower kept sponsoring slave-holding states and providing advanced weapons during the American Civil War.

@jasonli2280

As a chinese, it's hard to watch this. To know how much China was bullied by foreigners is truly hurtful :*(

@aliyangco8178

1st part: 5% sweet talk so the pro-Chinese will not leave.

2nd part: 6% small detail History

3rd part: 89% Criticizing Chinese backwardness and uncivilized.

Last part: 1% somehow China became a superpower.

@teckguanchan6902

Presenter said it is China's ambition to retake Taiwan. It is not an "ambition" , it is a national duty for Taiwan to be part of China again. Just like East Germany is now part of Germany or Goa part of India.

@JJZZ-q6y

你们德国媒体真的坏啊,中国从来都是正面报道你们德国的,你们却一直抹黑中国,宣传中国威胁论,太令人恶心了

@Eureka7n

Chinese had been there for 5000 years, 98% of the time she had been a global superpower...

@chriscarrol9373

Unfortunately a lot of todays wars can be blamed on the British empire under Queen Victoria. Then some where later carried on by the USA. It's that simple.

@KVUAA

It's very clear westener doesn't want prosperous stronger China, We in ASEAN is aligning more towards China lately for a Shared Stronger Asia.

@Jackfruit00

The video gives a rough overview of historical events, but it completely drifts away from the actual topic stated in the title: “How China went from 19th-century subjugation to global superpower.”
Towards the end, you covered the Tiananmen incident and the Diaoyu Islands dispute – but without explaining how these events contributed to China’s rise as a superpower or what reflections they triggered. What was the editorial intention here? Was the video meant to explore China’s rise or simply provide another opportunity to criticize the country?
For a channel representing Germany’s global voice and cultural outreach, this level of narrative focus and journalistic coherence is honestly quite disappointing.
Having lived in Germany for many years, I’ve noticed with concern how limited the understanding of foreign countries is among many locals – and I believe this is largely shaped by the way German media presents the world. Much of the content is based on second-hand material from other countries, yet confidently presented as authoritative analysis. Before coming to Germany, I held deep respect for the country and its people. After arriving… well, let’s just say reality has been sobering.

@aloud9738

Japan was very cruel.
