@alextraordinary5294

Who would’ve thought it’s much easier to be in opposition than running a government?

@toonvanboxstael254

Impressed by the Dutch pronunciation of the British news anchor.

@eugeneeugene3093

It’s always the dudes with funky looking hair

@dutchcourage70

The guy is incompetent. The only question whether he is incompetent by accident or design. Here he is with the largest parliamentary party and his own Minister of Immigration and he was unable to even draft a law to tighten up the immigration system. He’s all talk, no action. And he doesn’t know how to collaborate with others. Perhaps he doesn’t want to solve the issue, because that’s the only reason people vote for him.

@boterberg278

The problems in the Netherlands were caused mostly by right-wing liberals, iow the VVD, which was the former party of Geert Wilders.
What they did is driving privatization of public services, following the liberal trend at the time. Cut government spending, and use the money that they "saved" that way to support and stimulate companies, industry etc. The money did NOT end up in the workers's pockets, increasing their pay-checks however, but in the ceo's and high paying jobs, because the reasoning was that otherwise these "highly skilled" people would go and find their luck abroad,
The outcome of this was that life for the common 95% of the people got more expensive, and so problems got bigger, less houses being built, healthcare got more expensive, education, public transport, everything. The next thing that happened is the need for a scape-goat, and that is where Geertje came onto the stage, as did Trump, Orban, Netanyahu, you get the gist.

@AurediumRiptide

He won't. Its not that his party will not get a lot of votes. Its that his party has to rule by coalition. Nobody will want to rule with PVV now for good reasons. His party will be side-lined as a result.

@frederikruis274

This is about immigration and needs to be resolved together with other European nations. And I think it will, eventually. Wilders is head of a 'party' that would not be possible in Germany, for it has only one member: Wilders himself. People voted for this guy out of frustration. Frustration about a changing world, shifting culture, being and staying poor where others thrive. Happening everywhere and fuelling far-right voters. What we are seeing is the far-right has no answers. Trump, Orban, Le Pen, Weidel and Wilders are all showing they do not have any real answers. The answer is working together on a European or even Global level.

@arturobianco848

As a Dutchy i can only say finally lets hope my fellow country people learned their lesson and will vote for a party that actualy tries to work on realistic solutions for the problems we have and not on fear mongering and blaming others.

@Haste666

He looks like a robocop villain.

@ValensBellator

Wilders looks like Steve Bannon’s skinnier brother. 😂

@Nick-f9z2c

😂😂😂 Holland has a trump too

@ironfromicey8700

Actually they didn’t even disagree with his plan. He just wanted to collapse it.

@tonybeatbutcher

So basically, he's not occupied with the important problems but only things with what could bring him more votes in the future 🤔

@Hellsgator

WAWA... Wilders always walks away.

@astevini

Started watching DW only recently. Great content. This anchor is so good!

@atropatene3596

I've voted right wing in the past but these new elections I'm gonna go the total opposite way. VVD and the like have really made things so much worse. I kinda want to see what the left can do. And that guy Jimmy Dijk seemed the most level headed in debates this past year or so. I don't agree with all of their policies or anything, but I still want to see what can happen if we go to the other flank.

@Joekool88

Did anyone hear that 'eh' @ 2:31 😅

@adebarekayode2036

I will be voting for the first time in Netherlands but it to vote against this man.

@slunasaurusrex

Dudes head is darn near the width of his shoulders!

@scarymonsterer

Thanks for including the second analyst - I felt they made much more sense of the current situation. Good reporting as always DW
