Hi there, thanks for the material, I have a question about this statement "Many natural phenomemnon and human behaviors are not random; they follow predictable patterns that can be discovered and analyzed ...." this is like stating that if time series is random then it is difficult to predict. But I dont understand why this is the case. I mean if you take a cross sectional phenomenon if you say "variable X is a random variable with the following distribution with parameters..." all you are saying is this variable follows a probability law and that you are able to calculate the probability of this variable to take this or that value because u know the probability function.
