I've tried so many things, but have finally found a routine that works. Dove anti-dandruff twice a week has made my scalp so much better! My hair still gets oily after two days, but no itchiness and no flakes. Head and shoulders also worked somewhat before this, but dove seems to suit my hair and scalp much better.
I love T-Sal. I use it 2-4x a month. Itβs a reset for my scalp and hair. Thanks, Doc !
I directly use salicylic acid (meant for face) directly on my scalp. I let it sit one hour before I wash my hair. It's effective, my scalp is way less oily throughout the week.
I have been using 3-4 spoons of organic apple cider vinegar with the mother weekly on my scalp with half a cup of water before shampooing for 10 min β¦. No more flakes and I noticed less hair fall out
I swear that using a clarifying shampoo once a week has helped my hair grow a lot
Nizoral anti dandruff shampoo is really helping my scalp!!!
This happens to me every winter when the air is dry. Even tho I run a humidifier it doesn't help. So I use similar to what Dr Dray recommended. T Gel for dry itchy scalp with coal tar. But I buy Wal-Mart brand Equate which works just as well but less expensive. Use it x2 a wk, in between my regular shampoo. Works great!
I bought a filter to attach to the shower head, we have hard water. Otherwise my hair would feel like straw from the water.
I have a water softener and NATURALLY verrrry dry scalp and hair - since puberty! I have lots of thick, coarse, dry, frizzy, wavy and curly super dry and puffy hair. I do everything I can between eating right, taking vitamins, drinking plenty of water, using excellent, highly rated and highly recommended hair products for my hair type. I wash about every 5 days, but by then my scalp has dry flake build up. The medicated shampoos have helped little in the past but are horrific on my already horrific hair. I'm at a total loss on what to do!!! I have tried the organic vinegar and a few scalp oils as well - all to no avail π’ π
My dermatologist told me to wash my hair several times a day and leave the dandruff shampoo on for 20 minutes. I'm not joking. I'm not exaggerating. I didn't misunderstand...I never went back. First of all who can wash their hair several times a day? Like, I have to work. Anyway I have to wash every single day and I still have dandruff and itchy scalp. But it's much worse if I don't wash daily. Doctors were no help. π€·π»ββοΈ
Nizoral changed my life. No more itchy flaky scalp
Thanks for this since menopause my hair has gotten so greasy and the scalp build up is gross!!
Ok Dr dray but can you show us an entire hair care routine with some who has thinning oily hair?
For years my scalp often get inflammed and causing a headache as I cover my head & I wash my hair 2x/week (I know it's inflammed cause it hurts freaking bad even when I move my hair). Those symptoms appeared even the next day after hair wash day to the point that I was considering to wash my hair everyday. It's been several months since I learned about shampooing twice during hair wash day (the second shampoo only needs small amount) and that change my quality of life. Now I still wash my hair 2x/week using that method and even if I wash 1x/week I wont experience similar problem
Plumbers hate installing soft water, they say it messes up the pipes even more than hard water. Said they are not worth it. In Vegas we have hard water. π€·π»ββοΈ
I rinse my hair with distilled water at the end of my shower to avoid the mineral build up
What if you use hair color? I imagine TSal would strip out the color too.
Your hair looks great.
I have regular breakouts and flares on my scalp which hurt like crazy but the only shampoo that does wonders for my scalp acne is Insight Rebalancing Shampoo. I bought a lot of expensive hair products but none work better than this one. I'm already on my third bottle.
