I sustained a knee injury over a month ago with some pain and stiffness and have developed an antalgic gait as a result. It’s like I can’t remember how to walk properly and this video is really helping me understand what’s going on. Going to start doing these exercises tomorrow. Thanks!

God love you! Step down injury in 2019. Four years of useless PT, with me asking, asking, asking for gait work. Now, one minor back surgery, one minor abdominal surgery, one 1/2 inch full foot lift correcting leg length, and headed for a hip replacement at the tender age of 70, I find you! As a former surgical nurse, I had started some of the work you suggest. This gives me a clear path. Plan is to ditch the walker and build strength going into the hip surgery. There are big dogs to walk, Jazzercise classes to take and West Coast swing dances to attend! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

This will be my second time I taught myself to walk. My first time ( long story short ) I was in an accident ,
2 broken legs and fractured hip . bedridden for 2 months while in the hospital. Once I gotten out of the hospital,
I used a wheelchair for 4 months . I took the wheelchair behind me , while used the walker just to hold me up .
Because I couldn't stand very long more like seconds, then did this for a long while , and went to standing up alittle
longer. this took me a 4 months , I went from wheelchair to using walker , stayed with this for several months too.
All I can say is this was one of the time in my life . I will never forget it . I was in very bad shape as far as my Gait.
But mentally it took a toll on me . 1982 - 1983
2024 Today I am having to teach myself how to walk again and it's NOT easy . It's harder as an older adult.

@SHEARMINATOR

10 years as a postman I had to stop. I started limping and then carried on for weeks while I was limping. I have now put the body into a different movement pattern :face-blue-wide-eyes::face-blue-wide-eyes:

Very helpful video! I suffered Bursitis in my left knee recently so I was off my feet for just over a week. WhenI started to walk again, it felt and I had a habit of tensioning my legs rather than letting them be supple. I did regain my gait but alot a practice involved.

Brilliant and so important for us all to see.

@debbiec6216

Thank you for so much help, I do appreciate it .
I walk like a pengiun or you could call it , Wobble Gait
I have a Weak Right Hip ( Glutes ) and I might have an  Leson tear ( I am guessing ) .
I might need an Xray or MRI to see exactly what I have.

i sprained my ankle and I'm struggling to go back to walk normally. 😅

@its_me_salman_zb

Sir Meri limping problem nahi ja rahi hai😢

@Chris-cm3tk

How long should each session be and how many times a day, please?

@Limescreww

Thank you

@bhooho

When there is limp... how can we know that it's gait issue or because of lower limb length discrepancy? Thank you!

@cincin5078

it's the 22nd day of sprained ankle, not sure if i should be starting to walk normally. generally there's no pain, but struggling to walk in uneven surface because i can't control when my foot moves to the sides. and there's still constriction in the ankle area. I'm just frustrated and wanted to walk normally again

@blakemoore666

On heel strike is your knee supposed to be slightly bent or straight?

@francisremedios2530

Is the heel strike first the same for running?

@mausplan3890
