@Loomac1970

Never pick up a blue ring octopus unless you want to die. And never swim when it's blue bottle season unless you want to experience pain.

@xxglowenxx

Australian sunscreens are also reef safe

@shaddijack7087

The blue 'whatever this is' is a blue angel sea slug and is in fact poisonous. So yeah, don't touch it

@dakotadoyle8865

I live in south Florida, and buy aussie sunscreen online because it really does work better, and Florida sun is no joke either

@benbenoy4419

Don't leave your shoe's outside keep it in an impenetrable closet.

@mfanwelikeit3760

As a Queenslander I agree - that said, the bats are lovely, not out to get you but they carry Hendra virus. Don’t touch or you will die.

@mjm918

Don't let this keep you from coming to Australia, moved here almost 15 years and haven't regretted it once. Adelaide has treated me good!

@Nina94771

β€œYou either run at 5am or never at all” πŸ˜‚

@caps_lock_

As an Aussie running after 6pm with bat makes me feel like Bruce Wayne

@user-bf8ud9vt5b

Addendum: It is, however, legally mandatory to run if you see a magpie. πŸ˜„

@GilTheDragon

Re Hole in Ozone Layer: It gone! We actually fixed that problem

@rb2k196

SMACK πŸ‘ YOUR πŸ‘ SHOES πŸ‘ if you leave them outside (not a good idea)/a porch/ basement - they're a perfect place for bugs and creepy crawlies. Give them a good bash by throwing them on the floor & kick em about a bit, if nothing comes out then you're good to go

@aldakendall4921

The flying foxes are lovely fruit bats, they are all vulnerable or endangered, so please be kind to the bats. They won't hurt you.

@DelphineDenton

4. Don't be afraid of quokkas. Don't touch them in the wild, but they're quite friendly little guys and mean you no harm.

@johnnysangel0413

"Don't touch it" Love that one. And I had no idea about the sunscreen. This was very valuable.

@silver85leaf

We use welding gloves in the Vet clinic to handle cute fluffy possums, their claws and teeth are no joke πŸ˜…

@CordeliaCurtin

Basically everything in Australia is out to get you even the sun β˜€οΈ but Australia is still amazing

@Lusty0Majo

Since I lived in Australia, I don't bother with sunscreen anymore : I wear long sleeves shirt and giant hats. Everything covered and the sun can't get through. I once had a sunburn through a white scarf that became wet cause of the sweat.... still have scars from it 10 years later.

@isla.vuewall

I love the "Don't touch it" rule, more tourists need to be aware of that. And if you see a Dingo, please don't approach it or try to feed it, just keep away, so many are "euthanised" because of the stupid actions of ignorant tourists πŸ˜’πŸ’”

@ginathecookie

Number 3 is mainly; check what times it is safe to run or walk in, in whatever area you're in. Some urban places in some states are fine. And its just the people you worry about (like you would anywhere else).

Like in my area and my state (NSW, border of NSW and VIC), it's fine.. just depends on the temp. It might even be too cold depending on the season. Like it's too cold rn..
