My (late) husband an i were avid boaters and fishers. We used to see idiots out on the lakes every weekend or vacation no matter where we were camping. Its unbelievable how careless some are..

Hey as a kyaker..... If you don't like bulky life vests... They have ones you can wear that don't get utilized and are pretty sleek until you need them and you pull a rip cord. Kinda like skydiving. Like you don't jump out of the plane without a go ahead from those that are in charge of the care of your safety. Not too different from when you spill over into the deep, rapid waters.
