24:29 Fun Fact: there is an ingame stock remote control option. If you have a craft with a pilot and that has a relay in range of a robotic craft with a receiving antenna, you can control the robotic craft without either craft having connection to KSC.

@007_special6

THIS WOULD BE SO COOL! Hear me out. Use the HyperEdit mod to put Kerbin and another planet on a collision course and make it your mission to escape with as many kerbals as possible last second! With all the visual mods this looks ACTUALLY FREAKING SCARY, especially if the other planet comes towards the Kerbal Space Center, but just barely misses it. Maybe you have to fiddle around and make multiple attempts to make it look as insane as possible, but it is worth it. A great anniversary video for sure!

@plaiddragon371

The reason Tekto is more green for other people is pood's OPM visual overhaul. The OPM volumetric clouds config is also configured for VO, so it'll look a lot better if you install that

@thegamesforreal1673

A funny bit about Eeloo being demoted to a moon is the implication that the Kerbals had confirmed the tiny rock Eeloo as a celestial body before they saw the comparatively gigantic ringed peach-colored ball that is Sarnus.

@motrediz

I love quadcopters in KSP. A few tips:

Make them rotate in diferent directions. Your quadcopter has all of the motors spinning in the same direction, which causes it to want to spin out of control. That makes it a lot harder to maneuver.

Make the throttle control the pitch, but in the oppposite direction. Your 0 throttle makes the blades point forward, which would be more efficient at high speed. What I like doing is having my 0 throttle make the blades completely flat, so that throtteling up a little is super efficient, and normaly as your speed goes up, you want to pitch the blades angle more and more.

Also, limit the blades pitch. I like having available only the usable angles. I think I limit the pitch at 82ยบ or something like that, past that it only slows the aircaft down a lot.

The way I like flying these is gaining speed, flattening the blades and simply gliding, it makes it super easy to control.

This channel really opened up my passion for space

@EnderFlintAerospace

Kcalbeloh. We all want it. Now do it.

@OwenHuang-w1u

one of the reasons the quadcopter might have been hard to fly is because of the torque from the rotors slowly turning it to the left - if you have half of the rotors turning one direction and the other half turning the opposite it will cancel out and prevent any torque like that

@brettcaruso1234

Hello Matt. My son and I are avid fans. He's 7 yrs old and we watch your videos almost every night. His name is Aidan. I promised him we would join your channel and message you about how much he likes your content. He's a HUGE space and rocket fan. We are going to Kennedy Space Station this summer so he can see all of the rockets. I downloaded KSP, but I have to tell you, it's not easy to teach a 7 yr old how to work this thing, lol. Anyway, we are over here in the states and wanted to give you a shoutout and tell you how much we enjoy your channel and that you have fans of all ages.

@Retrogradience

you should truly play rss for the special. thank yers.

@ES_YV

Hi Matt, for your rotor pitch, you can have a CAL controller on board, with the higher the pitch the further it is in the play cycle, and just bind the play position to your throttle, this way you have more precise controls and can set it so that it won't deploy negative pitch (by changing the value at the start and end), or too high so that the blade's stall. As well as that, it may be cool to have 2 motors turning clockwise and 2 turning anticlockwise and have the blade set to different variants (clockwise or anticlockwise) depending on the direction of rotation, this way the the net torque from the rotors is 0 and your quadcopter will be more stable in flight.

1K Video Idea: Recreate the Mohole base from about 7 years ago!

@Red-jr9qm

Congrats on the 1000th video coming up!
Had a few ideas on what I would love to see (Semi-new to the channel, if you've done these, then nvm)

- Catastrophic damage recovery: Make a large space station habitat with hyper-edit near a gas giant that explodes somehow, sending debris and survivors to all of the nearby moons, which must be rescued and clean up the debris from the area, reusing what's left to rebuild the station (bonus if you can do this with just one craft loaded with drones or something)

- Make a workable mech with servos and the grippy pads for legs, possibly simulating an Avatar movie-style planetary landing and deployment of a walker

- A cinematic space war-type video where Space-X Starships are armed with a weapons mod and must defend KSP from drones

Just a few ideas. Love the channel and can't wait for more!

@Olive_Gamer139

Could you also try out the Minor Planets Mod? It is meant to work with OPM, and it adds some famous asteroids and dwarf planets. It even adds Sedna!

@WubboxTechnologiesOffical

Suggestion for the 1000th video: Make your own planets with Kopernicus! There are a lot of tutorials for making your own star systems and maybe you can even explore them! I am also making my own planet pack with star systems.

@xdexdaflex

KSP 2 huh when you mention it that would be a great idea I WONDER WHY NOBODY HAS DONE IT

@-Gorby-

36:15 - When you decoupled the landing pads you gained about 573 DV and you had 560 left when you docked with the mothership ๐Ÿ˜†

@psychic_wolf

legit laughed out loud around 32:00 when you asserted that you've logged so many hours on KSP that Jeb gained sentience. idk why that cracks me up. maybe because it feels lore-accurate? lmao

@MFiveK

To fix Tekto not being very green, install Poodmund's OPM Visual Overhaul. It's also what's needed to get Volumetrics to work on the OPM gas giants.
