I have the USA Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid Limited . I agree that the lag and heating bothers me the most. 4:50 Lag at takeoff is what bothers me the most . I find myself putting it in sports mode to go through rotaries /roundabouts to have a better less dangerous response ..

Please do a buyers guide on the Tesla 3 (used), what do I need to look out for, what spec is best, what subscriptions/upgrades on a pay per month are worth getting, any lessons learned from your purchase etc. about to go for it so would appreciate your experience and it would be great content 🎉

I bought a '23 just over a year ago. It's Premium and the only feature that an Ultimate has which I miss is the 360' camera. Forward would be useful as the parking bleep seems to keep you too far away.

Yes, the engine is gruff when pushed, but you can get a sharp take-off if you select 'hybrid' instead of 'automatic' - you get both power sources instead of just electric (which is not enough to shift 2 tonnes quickly from rest).

Charging; it charges at 10mph (3:30 on a level 2 charger) as it has a 3.6kW capability. I've not yet tried delayed charging at about £3 a charge as even at full rate it only costs 9p/mile on electric.

In 12 months, I have averaged the equivalent of 42mpg overall by factoring in the cost of electricity as a petrol equivalent. That's not bad for a big motor. But remember, A-B-C, always be charging. Just give it a top up when you get home a couple of times a week.

My only real gripe is the lane departure warning - if you're driving a fairy narrow street with cars parked both sides (normal in much of the UK), it will screech at you on a right curve because it thinks you're running into the parked cars - rather than that you are simply steering. A bit over sensitive. The dealer had said "you'll want to turn that off", but you have to every time. All of these things default to 'enabled' each journey. Don't blame the car, blame NCAP! It's in the rules, as are most of these annoyances.
