See, that’s the thing about cleaning so much. It takes time away from activities that are much more fulfilling and rewarding. My old roommate was trained in the top Culinary Institute of America but when she had to eat she was very utilitarian as anyone would be. Don’t be too hard on yourself. There is a season for everything, so your cooking and baking time will likely come later when kids are older. Teach kids to clean floors, lol. They’ll love it. With two you can have games and competition.

I appreciate that you showed your follow thru with the new goal. From the idea of why you wanted to get back into cooking to actually sitting down to make a menu. I seem to get caught up somewhere between the "I wanna do xyz" phase and then the actually "doing it" part, if at all. Guess I need to have a little more planning, some conviction and the discipline to repeat. Thanks for sharing!

Once you get back into cooking you should start a “what’s for dinner) series. I always enjoy those for new ideas to get me out of a cooking rut. I’m much older than you (40) & my girls are 20 & 14 but I still enjoy kid friendly meal ideas. Just a though 🤔
