I agree with you on the history we were lied to,🙋🏾‍♀️I’m over 40 years old and still learning about our history.

@DebShops-e3v

Hey Girl! Thanks for the recommendations. I follow half of them and it’s good to have a few more to check out. I have always been a history nerd. I enjoy learning about other cultures and countries and this place here is a trip. I find the US has no real cuture other than …because it is a melting pot. Don’t understand how the colonizers can claim this place has a culture…and its theres when Native Americans were already here. the only culture we have in this place is the worshipping of money. Anyway…want to go to Africa for a month turns out I am half Japanese..of course I knew this lol but then turns out I am around 47 percent Nigerian and three percent a few dif things but African. I think I am the only Black person I know with no White in my DNA…….if you can believe it. I find other countries fascinating because they have thousands of years worth of history…i go to Japan every year and I want to start going to Nigeria and South African yearly as well if I can swing it. I consider myself Black……Brown….A Person of Color…..African American is my least favorite label….only because it came after Black…..i felt it was a watering down term so just call me Black preferably. My two cents.

@SJP43

My aunt told me we ain’t no Africans. She’s 80 and she knows our history and we’re American. True Natives. History traces back to my great, great, great great grandparents and linked to Central and Northern America. I even learned that we were black “slave” (both black and white slave) owners. The information is out there. You can start by googling your last name and area of known relatives. My search started when reading the credits of Saturday Night Live and seeing someone with the same unique last name. I went down the rabbit hole from there.
