My TD account switched over Memorial Day weekend. It was fairly easy process. The hardest part was redoing the direct deposits from my 3 pensions. More time, more paper work. Schwab said that they will give up to 6 months to get it done. Any direct deposits will still be sent to your old TD account and then transferred over to your account at Schwab to give you time.

What will happen in case of joint accounts? My wife and I have a joint (taxable) account with TD Ameritrade, in addition to a few individual regular, Roth and rollover IRAs.

thank you for the video. i was getting ready to open an interactive brokers account because they pay excellent interest on uninvested funds, but their customer service appears to be terrible. i could not get anyone on the phone after multiple tries, and it's been over a week since i emailed customer support with no response. online chat only works if you already have an account. not impressed.

For the life of me I cannot understand why they aren't keeping TD software. Sure they keeping Think or Swim but even TD desktop is FAR better than Schwab. Its like buying a Porsche for $150k and instead you drive your Pinto. TD software is a goldmine and Schwab is liek naaah lets use our outdated crappy software.
