I was considering a grab and go kit. I just need to figure out what to put in it. You gave me food for thought. Thnx!
You need to be Grey Man when on the move and having a headset on your head, call out police, military, prepper or someone that has something they need. You need to get one of those Ear pieces and mic that people used years back with there cell phone. But now they have it radios. The same ones you saw police or secret service uses. You can wear a hoodie or winter hat to cover the ear piece. Be undercover, you don't want anyone to know you have something. Stay Safe & Be Ready
I have been running a backpack similar set up. We travel with a group of friends and having some extra meds or first aid, radios and such comes in handy
Nice kit. Some very good ideas in there. I know what you said about water, but I would still suggest a metal water bottle in your kit. You can store it empty and fill it when in need. You can put lighters, matches and other stuff you dont want damaged in water into a sock and store inside it. Water may not actually be available when you are actually thirsty. I live in area in Australia that if we travel anywhere beyond just going into town, we will put at least 10 litres of water into the car and a get home bag. I have the same Leatherman. Such great tool to have in any kit. I also have to say thank you for your other video that you showed that you had storage space underneath your rear seats in the Jeep. I have an Isuzu D-Max, so I went to check to see if it had storage space under the rear seats also. To my delight it does.
Just re built one out of a north face 32 voyager duffel that converts to a back pack, have 2 FRS radios for close range communications even when grid is down, ponchos, rain jacket, , chest rig with mags and medical loaded, a case with batteries, other survival items including water filtration. The 2 things I will be doing is putting a dark change of clothes in the bag for evasion, and also ordering the Kuna to deck out and throw in the bag for a little more firepower that’s more compact than my 12.5 ARP
Thank you, Prepared Citizen! Great channel, sir! Test those water filters...it's worth the money for not getting sick. Trust me...lol Wings of Prayer 🕊
*Pounding on the keyboard* Leather gloves. Faraday bags for all electronics. Having tons of water source around you is always an added bonus. HOWEVER, if you are wounded or injured? No guarantee you can GET TO IT. So I would suggest keeping some on hand anyway. Also? Hostile forces KNOW water is valuable. All kinds of ways they can take away or compromise that resource.
Thank you so much for telling me about ready radio that is exactly what I need really don’t want to program one, I bought one but never set it up. Thanks again!
Hello sir!! Just started to prep and your a great source for a beginner like me. 👍🏾 thanks. Subscribed!!
Different strokes, different folks! Water is 'always' plentiful until you need some badly! Did I miss a water filter and/or a way to boil water? What if the emergency includes some contamination of the local surface water? Rain gear or poncho, your second level of shelter! A folding Esbit stove with solid fuel (even tea candles) and extra lighter, matches or ferro rod provides a means to boil water, start a campfire in poor conditions, and easily-carried light source! For food I would suggest carrying either a life-boat ration; a 5"X5"X2" sealed block with 3600 calories and a five year shelf or (my preference) millenium energy bars, 400+ calories each, a five-year shelf life and about nine flavors! You said that there was lots of water around so maybe a small fishing kit would be good! Personally, I'd add a couple of mouse and rat traps since small game is usually easily to trap; perhaps while you're sleeping! What about some 550 cord and #36 tarred bank line, always very useful! I didn't see an extra knife though I assume that you carry one EDC and yes you have two multitools which are useable for many things but not real good at many; have you ever tried to process a small animal or fish with a multitool, not easy! Finally, since it's a grab-and-go kit, shouldn't you have a backpack carrying all the other gear inside the box since you're not planning on carrying the box by hand anyway and having everything pre-packed will save you time when time might be very scarce! The best part of your video is that you remind people that life goes on so try to enjoy it!
Great video. Lots of food for thought. Also, your statement at the end is spot on! Life is short and we need to live it.
Great setup ...
I actually have that case and was trying to decide what to use it for. 🤔
I’m in England where the climate makes a lot of bulky insulation necessary - it’s a pain 😂 I’m running a huge duffel about the same size as your box. I’m thinking that box would be a better solution. Good video thanks for the ideas 👍
Socks brother. Didnt see any in the kit. Solid case though! Just added to my cart
Get home box? If you keep it in a vehicle and the vehicle goes down you are dragging that thing like youre at the airport. Wouldnt it make more sense to keep all of that in a pack?
Great looking hardcase. Only thing I might consider adding would be a pack of some sort, preferably with a waist belt, that you could put some pouches for things like the radio, mags etc
Awesome content!
I set up a massager bag for the ability to grab and go with essentially the same idea. The only thing that I would add to your box is some sort of gas mask otherwise it’s really well thought out.
