@HarshitDaftary

I thought only Indian Government websites are bad but seems every government websites are competing to be worse.

@capivaracafeinada

Estonia missed an opportunity of naming their government's website e-stonia instead of e-Estonia.

@I_Mimic_I

In Ukraine, we have Diia, which allows us to access various documents (passport, international passport, driver's license, student card, military card) and services (get a residence certificate, pay a traffic ticket, even get married online) in the phone app or through a web portal. By the way, Estonia was planning to make their own similar app based on Diia, and an MVP called mRiik was created, but their government decided to start from scratch with their own developers. One of the reasons for this is that digital documents are not legalized in Estonia, unlike in Ukraine, where you can easily show your passport in the app to a police officer without having a physical copy.

@MizzyMiz

Sometimes, I an Estonian, am mad at our government website having issues or something, and then I remember we have it good.

@jsalsman

I remember in the late 80s/early 90s when all of the federal information processing systems were listed in a three inch thick newsprint phonebook from the GAO, and querying them took a six month FOIA request, per query.

@kawaiidere1023

Honestly, I just want them to not look exactly like phishing sites. If its too simple and dated, then it looks like something any scammer could make or dupe

@prototypepurgatory

6~ years as a SWE for the aus govt and this video is painfully accurate

@pifopifo1000

Just checked my government website from Austria. I must say, it is pretty modern and fast. Compared to the german one, it's also way better in search terms.

@MarSer55

In Ukraine, almost all government services are available on your phone, using the DIIA app. It is very convenient and fast. 😊

@wchorski

If an candidate has an outdated or no website I will not vote for them

@wandenreich770

Another reason is that they are usually built by the same people...unlike tech companies where there's some level of meritocracy in government its mostly about who you know rather than who can do the best job

@DanilSay

Everybody talks about Estonia but no one mentions Ukraine. Even though Estonia licensed part of Ukrainian tech

@grassified.

woaw! i do agree that government websites are a HELL to browse thru

@SA-nu2so

The UK Gov might be one of the best website UX out there! Only thing they did good

@Aluenvey

I found with UX / UI design everything gets way simpler if one thinks of it as a personal portfolio for skillsets.

So Im not sure my skills would translate over to Government Websites.

I usually have two Aesthetics, one or two literary genres, and one music genre in mind. That way I can tailor it to that subculture.

@falcontomto

and it doesn't help when everything is run on a single potato server.

@meladthegreat
