Your 1911 style guns are going off when dropped tested on the muzzle crown is because they are likely Series 70. The Series 80 has additional parts to prevent the 1911 from firing when dropped, however, adds to the trigger pull weight and slower rate of fire since the mechanism has to depress a plunger that retains the firing pin.
