Hi everyone! I am a 28 year old guy who has serious dental anxiety that kept me from the dentist for atleast the last 10 years. Needless to say, I had some SERIOUS plaque build up. Well today I had a deep cleaning just like this! My bottom front teeth were in a very bad shape I could basically not see them. And i’m alive!!! I feel better about my teeth than I ever have. There was almost no pain in most places while doing the procedure, any of the pain came from the scraping but that was just more uncomfortable than anything. If you’re having any second thoughts, please trust me on this. I am someone who suffers from anxiety and panic attacks very easily and it REALLY isn’t that bad. Like seriously, it was not at all what I thought it would be. You can do this!!!!! Don’t talk yourself out of it, you have an opportunity to be brave!
I'm 48. Literally just had this procedure complete a couple hours ago. Totally worth it! The only discomfort was the needle to numb me. If the dentist says you need this type of cleaning, DO IT!
I have to get a deep cleaning and of course ran to YouTube. I cried during my appointment bc of the embarrassment I felt and the amount of money I had to pay out of pocket lol. The dental hygienist was so nice to me and made me feel so comfortable with my situation. She eased my nerves and I’m ready for my appointment. This video also helped me tremendously with my nerves and just like the DH you are being so nice about it. Thank you!
I've had dental scaling and root planing done on my teeth twice. Once was done at a dental school. I have a cleft lip and palate, so I have scar tissue on the roof of my mouth. The student who did my cleaning did a nice job, and her teacher told me that my case was a great experience for the student because when the student goes into practice, she may have to help other people like me. The cleaning took a little longer, but we got it done.
This saved my life. Like literally. Had a 7mm pocket that was full of ooze. Had it dug out today. I got my life back. I was in total misery for three days. I was mentally prepared for an extraction or root canal but am happy to report that all I needed was a deep cleaning.
That was neat, and accurate. 65 yrs old and had my first deep clean today. A piece of cake! I love modern dentistry.
Today I had my first deep cleaning appointment, I was very scared and worried because I watched a lot of videos and this is the first time in my life that I do a deep cleaning, because I had a bad experience with the dentist before. The cleaning was done without anesthesia, and there was no pain, and I did not feel anything, thank God. Please do not be afraid and tell your doctor before starting treatment about your fears
I just had my first deep cleaning this week, they cleaned my whole mouth in 2 visits. I went in with no idea what to expect, definitely didn’t expect them to give me shots in my mouth! But it wasn’t that bad at all. A bit uncomfortable, and my gums are still a bit tender, but I am SO glad I got it done. I haven’t been consistent about my dental visits and I’m definitely going to get serious about my oral care and checkups from now on. I wanted to see exactly what they did, which is why I’m here. If you need this treatment, GET IT. You won’t regret it, and your teeth and gums will really appreciate a fresh clean slate.
They told me I need this and it scares me. This video made me feel much better about the idea of having this done. Thank you.
I just got this done over the last two days. The doctor didn’t recommend numbing my whole mouth at one time. $600 procedure. I had this done when I was 36 and now again at 44. Kids, teenagers and young adults. Please take care of your dental hygiene at home. Dental work is not cheap. If you don’t have dental insurance, still go to the dentist and a regular cleaning is only $150.
hi guys! 16 year old here. I havent been able to go to a dentist for around 7 years and, due to a number of factors, have barely been brushing my teeth at all. However, I finally managed to find a place that was willing to accept me! They had to x-ray my teeth because they were so dirty and full of plaque and tartar that they couldn’t see the actual issues with my teeth. I’m having a deep clean today, in about 2 hours, so i’m going to use this little comment section as a diary about my dental journey. Reading through all these comments has made me feel a lot better about my deep clean, so thank you everyone! So far, I need 2 teeth removed and 2 fillings, so i’ll update here to inform you all how those go in the future. For now, wish me luck at my deep clean!
as someone with dental anxiety i can say that while this is a little uncomfortable it feels SO nice afterwards. my teeth felt so clean and like spacious if that makes sense? i felt like I had a brand new mouth. 100% worth it
Had all four quadrants done yesterday and today. Had bad anxiety over this, but my hygenist was amazing and gave me great after care and future care advice. This type of procedure is very simple and fast with the technological advancements in place. Remember; your hygenist is the first line of defense to avoid financially heart-stopping dental work!
I LITERALLY was told over 4 years ago I needed this cleaning done, got scared and didn’t go back, beginning of this year I took the time off and put my anxiety away and told myself I was gonna get dental insurance and go see the dentist - within a month I got my right side of my mouth done, today I just got my left side of my mouth done- my hygienist told me I needed to come back every 3 months to get a maintenance cleaning done, and I also have 6 cavity’s that need to be filled in the next month and half. PLEASE go to the dentist regularly. It really isn’t as bad as what you think it is. For my WHOLE mouth it costed me 1,269 dollars. I truly wished I would have stayed on top of my teeth when I was 16-25 but now I’m trying to take care of them. Save yourself and please go to the dentist.
In the parking lot watching this before I head in for my deep cleaning. Thank you.
I should have watched your video before the procedure . I cried ! The sounds , the injections hurt my feelings . The dental doctor and assistant were so patient and gentle . I thank them And I am glad I did it .
I went over 25 years without a visit. Finally bit the bullet and had severe periodontal disease but zero cavities. 3 and a half hours of scaling over 2 days and it was done. I considered the fact I didn't need any additional work a gift and have taken great care ever since. First 3 month follow up is in about 2 weeks and I'm looking forward to it. You videos have helped me through to continue good practices.
Hello Whitney, when I had my routine cleaning on Tuesday the dental hygienist said my teeth were boring to clean because she did not have much to do. She said my teeth were so clean that it did not take long to work on them. I am doing a much better job with my oral care routine from watching your videos. I am doing better from incorporating what I learn from your informative videos into my daily routine.
