I'm having so much fun rediscovering maths with you! I'm an 80 y/o retiree, and I am reminiscing over those halcyon days of youth learning such esoterica as the quadratic formula! Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into making these videos for us.
What I really like with your channel, is the way you explain and teach. It’s so clear and precise 😊 danke schön!
I love the way you teach.
And checking the work, this is the correct answer. (52*92 = 4784). The thing I think is great about your videos is that you take the time to show every step, no matter how obvious it is. Back in the old days when I used to work, I noticed the difficulty some people had when being taught by their mentors, is that the mentors often talked over their heads. It's easy to assume everyone is on the same page, and the easy stuff doesn't need to be spelled out, but even though it takes a little more time, it very helpful. There is no way anyone could be confused after you explain it in such depth.
Wish I had you as my math teacher ! (You take your time and explain every step, you smile and seem to love the process and you have a calming voice. Thank you so much!)
I really enjoy the ton of your voice! It makes the math easier...
math is easier if you divide by 4 before you apply the quadratic formula...
As someone who has always been bad at maths I find these videos both extremely instructive and entertaining. Thank you so much for making maths fun.
You have no idea how happy I was when I solved it then saw that your solution matched mine! Amazing content, thank you!!!
you are truly amazing, where where you when i was in high school, I always had an issue with the quadratic equation, you teach it like its childplay, you truly have a gift for teaching and explaining step by step
(80-2x)(120-2x) = 4784 -> (40-x)(60-x) = 1196 -> 2400-40x -60x+x² = 1196 -> x² - 100x +1204 =0 -> x = (100±72)/2 -> x=86(Invalid 86>80) 0R x=14
I've enjoyed maths in the later years of my life- I wish I had enjoyed it at school! You make what appears to be difficult, quite simple. You also speak perfect English, without a trace of an accent.
Hallo Susanne, Ich liebe deine Videos. Sie machen viel Spass! Vielen Dank!
You choose interesting problems. You might have been my favorite teacher.
Thank you for this easy piece ! a = height ; b = length b = a + 40 a + 2x = 80 b + 2x = 120 ab = 4784 b - a = 40 (a + 2x)(b + 2x) = 9600 ab + 2xa + 2xb + 4x² = 9600 4784 + 2xa + 2xb + 4x² = 9600 4x² + 2x(a + b) = 4816 a + b = 200 - 4x 4x² + 2x(200 - 4x) = 4816 4x² + 400x - 8x² = 4816 -4x² + 400x = 4816 (-1)(-4x² + 400x) = (-1)4816 4x² - 400x + 4816 = 0 x² - 100x + 1204 = 0 ∆ = b² - 4ac = 10 000 - 4(1204) = 5184 √∆ = 72 s1 = -b - √∆ /2a = 14
Area is 4784 Last digit is 4 Now we know both side last digut is 2 or 8. And we now nomber is nearby 50+- and 90+- Suppose if numbers are 52 ans 92 52*92=4784 Then 2x= 80-52=28 X=14
I sure wish I had you as a math teacher when I was a kid. You explain things so clearly.
Good solution! "though I cannot help but wonder ..... at time stamp 6:00, why not divide by 4 and simplify the equation?
(120-2x)*(80-2x)=4784. Further solution is simple. 6:06 it's prefered to divide both sides by 4, it would simplify next calculations
