Have same thoughts about AI. As a professional gamedeveloper in business for 14 years I dont use it as it dont make exactly what I want. Still faster to do something in photoshop. Besides moral thing about that they used art to teach AI without even asking artists.
4:58 I'm actually already doing this with my studio, where in every site I have I put (usually under my title) "making games with no AI" since I hate AI. Anyways cool video
While I`m still impressed by AI in its current states for so many reasons, I really appreciate your point of view
Personally I think a game made completely using AI & no person would be a soul-less game with no passion
...I'm hearing chatgTP
a AAA game cant be made by a single person, because AAA has nothing to do with quality. AAA means the studio has 100+ people. Indie is a studio with less than 20 people in it. so it is literally impossible, even with AI, for an indie studio to make a AAA game because there isnt 100+ people in that studio; and no AI doesnt count as additional people because its not autonomous nor does it legally count as employees. so the real question would be "can indie studios use ai to make games with as much or better quality than AAA studios?" and the answer is "probably?". if you look at the games that have come out in the past 10 years, especially 2023/2024, indie games have already started to surpass AAA and that is without ai. sidenote: the price of indie vs AAA has nothing to do with quality, but everything to do with undercutting and accessibility. indie games are by the people for the people, so they make their games affordable rather than overpriced. and most indie games on steam also have localized prices, making them even more affordable; no one in brazil and venezuela can afford a 60$ game

I hate AI it gets rid of the hard work of actually MAKING a game and all the games would be soulless
AI-free game worth something only maybe in the next few years. Even AA games like the finals, etc using ai to voice acting for now. Creative people are losing their market-values to AI. Sorry but it's the hard truth.
