They don't ever talk about the economic sector or the average salary of the jobs, you tell Americans we added 800,000 "jobs" but its all gig work or service jobs. To add to that, you have higher competition thanks to larger applicant pools cs social media allows wayyy more people to apply than would typically be considered.

@majord7515

There was a time that they did list the sectors in which the jobs increased. However, they stopped doing so when the majority of the jobs were created in the service industry.

@CreekFreak

Been unemployed for a while, two engineering degrees 5+ years experience. Was never given unemployment because of severance so I doubt I’m counted in unemployment numbers. Tech is in a bad spot right now and job search is very bad

@kni9ght

I really like your observation on the future either being AI or Personal Brand but choose one to double down on, I chose personal brand and have started writing books on top of other merchandise, about to start a channel on YouTube and you got a sub

@scottnguyen7076

As a Asian I break down the math for you let say these job are all minimum wage job let break it down there McDonald's, taco bell, Uber, lift, burgers king, papa john, Walmart's, home depot, best buy, restaurants, buffet, etc.. now we take that 277,000 / 11 that 25,000 then take that divide by 50 state that be 503 job per state for 15 dollars per hour job after that we divided that by population average of 1 to 100 people the chance of you getting hire is 5%

277,000 / 11 = 25,000/ 50 = 503 x 0.01 = 5%

@J3r_B3ar

Excellent appraisal. The less details about what large numbers represent (e.g., “adding” jobs), the more that those numbers are likely to be exaggerated, outright lies, or be irrelevant to the populace.

Honestly, I have no idea how we're supposed to bounce back from this. Not that its impossible but, it's definitely going to take time.

Ive noticed since AI came in the scene, companies have been making more cuts. I actually got laid off as a Writer last year. Me and the other Writers got cut from our company because they didnt need us anymore. The clients started using AI...its been downhill ever since...

@ReceptiveKing93

I went through 3 jobs up to this point since the pandemic. I wanted to sharpen my knowledge gap in job searching & career path. I started watching YouTube videos of recruiters & career coaches. Then I started buying their books. The way I interviewed now is an even playing field in my mind no matter how the job market looks. The biggest things I learned is we have to start asking employers questions (during the interview process) why is the job open? I feel as if too many people get blindsided by layoffs or toxic work environments because they’re not asking questions to uncover patterns. I am looking for work but no apply to jobs with the shotgun approach because in reality sometimes less is more. One thing I’m noticing a lot of employers are doing is the bait & switch. I read the job description closely before applying. If they try to change the “pay”, duties, or location walk away. That shows no integrity.

@ahmadking5229

I joined the Army and made sooo much money

@anthonydooley3616

The best career move I ever did was join the U.S. Army. I did it for 24 years. Then I started buying, renovating, and renting out houses. I could do this full time because I have an Army retirement pension coming in each month with no debt. After the fifth rental property was rented out, plus the pension, I didn't have to worry about a job. Just a tip.

You guys don't even know. I know a few guys that hang sheet rock on new construction that make $1000 per day. It's hard work, but this is how you make money. Then, invest your money in the S&P 500 index, then go out and do it again. Do this for 5 years, then run your own crew. They hang the sheet rock while you are going around giving quotes to future customers, calling the building supplies warehouse, and sending out invoices. That is a business. You can do the same with framing houses, doing concrete, roofing, or siding. Same model. Pick one, get good at it, learn the process, and start your own sub-contracting business.

It depends on the state honestly.

There is nothing wrong with a Manuel labor job. Education does not make someone better than another . We are all human beings.

@jakelong6860

For a small fee i can guarantee a job.

If getting a job is impossible, why do I have 3 offers for machine learning engineer and data engineer?
