Are there any super weird phones you've seen that we need to try next? πŸ€“
For a great example of Modular-Phone-Done-Right - here's my CMF Phone 2 Pro video: https://youtu.be/mz9eg7fR_qA

I had the LG Wing for over a year and my favorite thing about it was a position LG never advertised and you didn't get to try: Rotating the open phone 90 degrees so the big screen is in portrait like a regular phone and you get a small screen on whichever side you are not holding the phone on. Youtube on the tiny screen while regularly browsing the internet on the main screen with zero compromises was awesome

The main issue with minimal phones is that society expects you to have a smart phone - you need authenticator or banking apps just to do your job and function in the world. Having the full play store is such a game changer for stuff like that, avoiding the potential security risks or lack of functionality with side loading.

@armenyoussefian

Hey Arun,
I'm genuinely honored that you'd feature the Minimal Phone on your channel. These are still the very early days for us, and having you showcase our first-generation product means a lot. Thank you so much for seeing the vision and sharing it with your audience!

@olarul99

I really miss LG in the mobile phone market :( The only ones after Nokia who had the balls to try new stuff. Exactly the opposite of what Apple and Samsung are at this moment.

Little mention of the Lg G5's big advantage - changing out a battery quickly for a full one mid day after heavy use. The batteries were cheap and decent sized, but it helped a lot with charge anxiety. This was before the battery technology of today meant the batteries lasted the whole day. I loved the G5 and was sad I could never find another phone that had an easy swap-able battery. The add on accessories were kind of an after thought.

I like the modular phone idea.Γ€!
-But honestly all we need is a headphone jack, SD card slot, changeable battery.
-And then an easy to repair screen and parts that can break.

Mom can I get a phone?

Using the LG Wing as my primary phone since launch.. It's been like 4 years I think. And I don't regret even a tiny bit. This phone was ahead if it's time. The form factor, the smoothness, That extra bit screen. Everything together is a gr8 combination to use. The experience is is just perfect. Since 4 years there is not a single problem with the swivel mechanism. The phone is just perfect. πŸ”₯

@rambot670

02:00 - The slow, laggy UI and screen are a boon in a way for dopamine addicted folks. It immediately introduces friction, and that friction can help boost your willpower as well make the experience bad enough to actually step away from the thing that you are addicted to (insta, YT shorts etc.)

Something I don't like about minimalist phone, is that these phones sells less functionality for more money. I mean, I'm okay if it's priced around 200 usd, but 500?? I know that they use 'premium' parts to compensate for the less functionality they offered, but charging 500 usd for a phone that's 'minimalist'?? That alone is just outrageous.

@Darx97

wish pop up selfie cameras stayed for longer, i barely use the front camera so having it hidden and getting a huge display with no interruptions was awesome

@playtimewithmadeline4444

Am I the only one who is wondering how big his phone collection is??πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜Š

@AveenB

Respect to LG for always trying out new things, yes it came at the expense of their profitability but they never stopped innovating. Some of their creations have been copied and are still being used today: 1) Ultrawide cameras; 2) Tap to wake; 3) Wide angle selfie cam; 4) Gesture-based instructions etc

@mareimf35

I miss the "a subscription would be <insert word here>" 😒

@seradhe1389

the LG Wing was my daily driver for a few years and I loved it. I liked having Google maps open on the main screen, with my music controls on the small one, while driving; it worked amazing flipped open and turned sideways for the best Google maps orientation. Unfortunately it succumbed to the (slightly) notorious "green screen of death" that LG Wings were apparently prone to.

@moazhegy1200

I have an idea for a video type. How about you choose a topic or item and then buy the most expensive the most cheap, the smallest, the biggest, the most futuristic and the oldest etc. For example, say you choose lighters (just something I thought of!) and then do that. This means you can also attract audiences who don’t even normally watch tech videos if you make a video about a topic they like! Love your videos by the way, keep it up!πŸ‘
