On 20 November 1974, the Boeing 747-130 that was operating as Flight 540 was carrying 157 people (140 passengers and 17 crew members) crashed and caught fire shortly after taking off from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi for the last leg of the flight, resulting in the deaths of 55 passengers and 4 crew members. This was the first fatal accident involving a Boeing 747.[1] Edit the crash was and wasn't boeings fault fault the cause was the flight engineer and a lack of warning systems.
to all those people who have lost loved ones in aviation incidents. i am truly sorry❤

RIP to all 59 people that died on flight LH 540
Rip those 59 people
This incident was Boeing's fault because Lufthansa complained that the slats were not properly working and Boeing ignored them and said it was normal
Man The Boeing 747-130 stalled because the outboard variable camber leading-edge slats and inboard Krueger flaps having been left in the retracted position.
For someone who doesn’t know it’s the Boeing 747 Dreamliner
