Covered calls means you need to own 100 shares of the underlying. Yes, you can earn “passive” income writing covered calls on NVDA…but you need 100 shares @ ~ $100/share.. and your premium you earn is dependent on how close to the strike you are at on that play. Closer to strike more premium but that is b/c it could be called away.
You can even buy covered call ETF’s. The dividends are usually high, but they often payout more than the funds value, ie the underlying fund loses value over time. If you care about growth, too, covered calls may be just a small portion of your portfolio. God bless!
