The fact alone that buying an expensive piece of kit does not automatically entail access to software updates is a deal breaker. Does not matter how amazing the hardware is when the support is dirt.
Big difference between R&S & Keysight re. firmware updates - for R&S you need an account and have it approved. Keysight just asks for an email address (which isn't verified) for immediate downlaod with no login needed.
19:29 Electron Microscope?? No wonder your previous upload was 6 months ago, I can't wait until the video(s) about it comes out!
We used XY mode for quickly measuring U-I characteristics of diodes/semiconductors. You'll just need a triangle/sine/sawtooth power supply, which come plenty nowadays
As one of your many American subscribers, we really don’t have a lot to be excited about these days. So when I see one of your videos pop up it brings a bit of joy into our otherwise depressing lives. Nice to have you back!
That corporate "fuck you customer" is getting way out of hand - I bet even with a totally free outlook address they would not thrown a fuss
3:35 Yes I use X-Y mode to set the phase relationship between the L and R channels on a professional grade cassette deck, and in doing so, can adjust the head azimuth precisely.
3000 Euro just for extra sample memory as a software option is insane.
My opinion of R&S has really changed after seeing the problems getting an operator's manual or firmware updates. No thanks. Anyone who spends that kind of money should be able to get those without having to jump through hoops. That's one of the most anti-consumer things I've ever seen.
Calibration void if damaged. Good you kept the sticker undamaged.
I think Ben at applied science just made a video where he uses a scope in xy mode to characterize magnets
Goddamn! Talk about a good-looking piece of kit! P.S. I can't believe you’ve been away for so long. We really missed you, my friend! 🥲🥲
Love your style of humor!!
At higher bandwidth, the XY modes can be used for IQ eye diagrams of phase shift keys and other modulation schemes. That enables you to see the noise, error and deviations.
The same day I buy my first oscilloscope is the same day Marco reps uploads a video about an oscilloscope. I think this is a match made in heaven
MARCOOOOOOOOOOOO, I just asked where you went in one of the random older videos, lol! Over the past year I have gone from understanding 2% of the videos to probably 25% which is great considering I only like to pretend in my mind im going to do stuff.
Good to see you back!
CuriousMarc uses XY mode to demonstrate agreement, or lack thereof, of HP atomic clocks to one another and to GPS clocks. Very reps “I’m going to show you something incredible from the 80s” energy except HP 5060A is from the 60s.
This MXO Series with open source stuff is Next Level amazing! Does not matter if one needs all the features or not! That has never been an argument for not to buy a Great Oscilloscope! 😀 Awesome Oscilloscope!
