Love the perspective here: MAP-B is a great framework to get and maintain relationships.  I can struggle sometimes with the maintaining relationships portion; this is a great reminder.  For other viewers interested in this, I personally love Adam Grant's book Give & Take, which has a lot of research on the topic.

This is a great "sales pitch" for your newsletter, Ilya. I subscribed. I'm a math PhD who achieved a full professor title at a public R2 (about to become R1) school. I'm contemplating switching from academia to industry for DS or MLE roles. But it looks like now is the worst time to do it. I have just started working on some ML research projects with my graduate students. I hope this keeps my options open for the near future as I can produce publishable research and work on my ML skills.
