@jvs333

In 1967 I was 13. I bought this LP and raced home to play it in my room on my old Zenith record player in my room. I listened to it 3-4 times. When my father a violinist came home from work. This song was playing. He came into my room and sat down on my bed and listened with me. When it ended , he said play it again. We sat there not speaking listening. When it ended he stood up and said creative instrumentals. Then left. That was one of the only times I shared a moment with my dad in our troubled relationship. I ended running away from home at 15, 1969.
RIP dad

@konameme

this sounds like a song that would play as you die and your life flashes before your eyes

@Mediumal

This is arguably one of the greatest songs ever written. A Day In The Life stands the test of time because it is just so damn good.

@videotrashmusic

I love how how when Paul sings ‘downstairs’ he walks the bassline downstairs as well, very clever little detail that helps depict and emphasize the scene

@LeeRenthlei

One of the best examples of Lennon McCartney song writing combinations.

The Beatles work will last forever.

@aortaplatinum

John Lennon: "Guys I have an idea. Let's make songs that start all peaceful and then become absolutely terrifying for no reason at all"

@TechnicalHotDog

The way the aaaahhh part of this song sounds with headphones is amazing. It totally engulfs you, feels like Lennon's actually drifting around in your head.

@васильбендер363

Fun fact: on a record player, the end of the first issue of Sgt pepper (i.e. the end of this song) causes the player to repeat that bit at the end over and over again if nobody stops the player, so technically sgt pepper is an infinitely long album….

@unclenedsfishfactory6461

the drumming is actually very artistic, not everyone appreciates Ringo

@MrBobLucas

One of the most breathtaking pieces of music ever recorded.

@jeffroberts3535

An absolute masterpiece of a song. John's voice is hauntingly beautiful. Fabulous production. Still sounds so fresh for something over 50 years old

@cclewes7373

Probably the greatest record of the 20th century

@markbelanian3303

never ceases to amaze me how such young men could have such emotional depth and the ability to express it in words so poetic... Beatles were genius

@RobertBolanos

Ringo's drum fills are fanstastic. Pure Genius.

@jackoo666

this song is amazing. love when the beatles feature both John and Paul. theyre voices/lyrics even are so different yet they work. complimentary colors. this songs a masterpiece.

@timmybeduria5719

This is not just a song, this is a masterpiece. The Beatles elevated music in that era and paved the way for many great bands.

@countalucard4226

So glad Paul went to that picnic were he met John.

@Timinator62

I remember when the Album came out, this song was so bizarre, and there was NOTHING that ever sounded like this before, even here on YouTube the sound is AWESOME and so complex.

@tommyculver6771

Unnecessary bit of trivia: That is the EXACT same piano Queen used on Bohemian Rhapsody! Not the same make/model. The exact same instrument. Now you know. ✌️

@saulbennett4677

THIS is the greatest Beatles song and there are heck of a lot of contenders!
