This is another way of merchandising a person in mental health care. You said yourself, it's a business. Personal regulation is essential in becoming whole person capable of making healthy decisions for ones self.

Those Who have no access to therapy desperately need access to online tools available for no charge and relational groups that have things in common. Modern medicine is now online. Surgery is performed by DR's in other countries with computerized arms and hands. While people who are forced to have clipped wings to travel, the Internet it crucial to education, health, healing, and business and artistic expression. We should not be going backwards 100 years when technology is meant to progress us forward to being the best version of ourselves so we can be people flourishing citizens

@charondolls

the last part of this chapter makes me think of what's been happening with Trans lives & their never ending trauma... people hate, chastised & punish them.

@Dhammaenjoyer

28:40 this is exactly what happened to me when I was 10 years old. My teacher noticed I had behavioral and social issues and just hinted that I might have autism, that there was something wrong with me, this traumatised me further. It was horrible.

Life is so confusing. There were very few people of color in the NorthEast where I grew up back in the 80's and 90's yet every day after school watched The Jefferson's, Sanford & Son, and Gail King on a show called PM Magazine. Now, people of color are everywhere in the NorthEast, I no longer have a name....based on skin color whites are called Karen's and Darren's, and people of color mistakenly view white privilege as any form of pride and act like whites are lazy if they take a short break (the boss told them to). Regular working whites are working class people, there is no "priviIege". I've gone to perform job duties and been told my white skin was not to touch their black skin. If I'm there to help and you refuse care because of skin color you are being difficult and truly causing nice white people to rethink everything. I don't want to die because of what happened over a century before I was born.

@ayanalea

I guarantee a teacher asked what was happening but didn’t have the resources to help.

Good perspective, though at times I lose it on the typical talking points like "Anti-Racism", the sentiment is nice but if it's just as destructive, what good is it to us?
