They say "you can't let China win" so they can get free money and less regulations on themselves. But history has shown the more money they get the less efficient they be, and also the support industries can squeeze as much margins that are available.

I'm not convinced they did this with just $3 million. I also think they found a way to secretly import really good GPUs. That being said, this is still insanely impressive. Near o1 performance but over 90% cheaper. I will always root for open source
