I quit my job to do a Master's. I'm done with the masters and currently applying for jobs & just like you said man "It Sucks"
I quit my lab job and had to send a lot of resumes out. Took roughly the same amount and 2 months to get a job. 4 months later I'm getting job offers left and right for stuff I barely remember signing up for
I appreciate your post. Gives me hope! Been laid off 14 months now. Somewhere around 500 apps, didn't get anywhere near the response rate. About five actual interviews, three very technical, one LeetCode. Guess I have some things to work on there with getting responses. Thanks again!
Very insightful! As somebody who sits on the other side of the interview table a lot, I totally understand your frustrations. Getting hired is hard, but making good hires is also hard 😅 I'm glad to say that we strive to be more like Stripe and less like Amazon.
I enjoyed this alot , thank you so much
pretty much went through the same thing as you, layoff in may, then perpetual ghosting, rejections, failed interview stages cause there is always someone with more experience - not surprised to see the companies that ghosted you cause I applied to many of the same roles at the companies listed and yea same😂😅
Great video and insights thanks ❤
Lets also talk about what the application process was like. Did you submit a resume on a job board? Through the company’s hiring site? Dis you fill out a bunch of manual applications? Did you submit cover letters? Did you optimize your resumes for each job? Tell us more abiut that
Do you think you can do a video on your resume and what you seen has or hasn’t worked? That would be awesome, thanks!
Pro Tip from a Recruiter: Consider the benefits of being clean shaven on your LinkedIn and interviews. You can guess why.
In your 2022 stats I saw that you passed all the interviews at Oracle but they stopped the process before the panel one? If you got an offer from them would you have accepted?
Hey, quick question about this, how many YoE do you have under your belt, and what degree do you hold? I've applied to hundreds so far and haven't heard back much this year. Only a few HR calls but no interview conversions.
do you think that since your past entry level, the interviews start caring less about leet code ? you mentioned 3 out of 9 asked leet code which is 33% that’s honestly not as crazy as i expected.
How do you even manage to get laid off 2024 times, thats like a layoff every day for 6 years.
sorry but you are applying for roles that doesn't match your profile I think front full stack to backend to game dev and maybe your profile doesn't match their stack if they are looking for c# or java or nodejs or golang and what if you don't have relevant experience in those
Only 239…
Where did you find all those jobs
People applying to thousands
I think you need even bigger mic to hold in your hand
