It's flat. It has no humanity. As a 57 yr old retired back round / front vocalist, & actor. Pitch correction is defacing masterpieces. My ear picks up the correction. It has no dynamics. It's sad.
Paul's wobbling vibrato gives the tune an emotional depth that is utterly destroyed by computer processing.
I hope there will be public backlash against pitch correction. Leave the songs as they were first released.
When you hear Paul's unedited voice, the difference in how it sounds in terms of emotion is stunning.
Sir Paul's real voice is SO GOOD. I want to hear a human sing, not a machine.
Sir Paul needs NO PITCH CORRECTION. The public is being robbed from the true art of the original version. Thank you, Fil.
From a guy that hosted and produced a syndicated Beatles show back in the 90s, THANK YOU! As it was originally recorded, Paul's "imperfect" vocals perfectly captured the emotion and depth of the lyrics and made it the beautiful timeless classic that it is. I despise pitch correction, especially when it comes to classics like this. With pitch correction it merely is just another song - no passion and no emotion. Sadly, I believe this is nothing more than a money grab for those that do not own the originals. Never trust digital online content or remastered/reimagined releases. - own it or lose it to historic revisions. BTW: It was Cher's "Believe" in 1998 that made pitch correction acceptable. It started as a novelty but as soon as that song went #1 everything changed.
The other day, my Mum was complaining about how they've auto-tuned Paul McCartney. I laughed a bit and said "You've been watching Fil from Wings Of Pegasus". She replied "I have seen him, but I heard it myself and then, when I found him, he just confirmed it for me!"
Why would sir Paul not approve of your efforts? I cannot conceive why not. Someone somewhere watching this must have a connection they could exploit on your noble behalf. You are appreciated immensely. Best to you.
You ABSOLUTELY CAN tell when something has been pitch corrected. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I remember sitting in pottery class one day when one of my fellow students was SO upset with herself and was complaining to our teacher about not being able to produce a perfect hand-thrown cylinder on the wheel. She couldn't make a perfect mug. The teacher told her, "go down to the discount store and you can buy 100 'perfect' mugs for fifty cents each. What do people want when they buy one of my twenty-dollar mugs? They want the IMPERFECTION. They want to know a HUMAN made this mug." Exactly. I love hearing Sir Paul unedited.
A hallmark of Sir Paul’s original vocal performance is the emotional vulnerability it conveys. It’s what makes the recording such a powerful classic. Thank you, Fil, for demonstrating this so clearly through your analysis and commentary!
Pitch correcting all of these great artists is like saying Picasso’s image is a little blurry, so we’re going to clean it up!
Man, the pitch corrected version is lifeless! All the beauty of Sir Paul’s voice is being stripped away and we are left with weird machine like sounds! There is real beauty in the imperfections and real vibrato of Sir Paul’s voice that are present in the original song. No use of pitch correction or auto tune will improve the natural voice of Sir Paul’s!
It’s amazing how lousy it sounds when pitch corrected. His natural voice regardless if it’s not 100% pitch perfect sounds WAY WAY better.
It’s a human voice expressing the emotions that the song intended.
There’s no need to pitch correct such a beautiful and emotional voice. Thanks Fil!
Paul's wobble, I love that. As a teen it made me cry, especially Long and Winding.. (teen existential crisis).
The difference is astonishing! So refreshing to hear the stripped back version you did. It's the way I remember it. Thanks for all you are doing, Fil. It is much appreciated.
Not even 3 minutes in and that first uncorrected sample is so much better. Natural, expressive. Why would anyone want that "corrected"? It's an absolute shame this is happening.
