“Don’t worry babe, I’ll buy some Bose-Einstein condensate for tonight”

@Ambreil

@NinjaSillyBoy

Scientists freeze light, This fills you with Determination

@nowlog502

scientists didn’t "freeze" light in the traditional sense but fired a beam through a pre-existing Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC), a state of matter near absolute zero where atoms behave as a single quantum entity. The light, still moving at its natural speed (299,792 km/s), bounced repeatedly within the BEC’s dense, structured medium. These multiple reflections made it take longer to exit—up to 60 seconds—creating the appearance of being "frozen" or standing still, even though it wasn’t truly stopped.

@BasicallyFrost

We got solidified light before GTA6

@saisubhamjethi9220

We got hard light before gta 6

@Notsosarcastic02

" what kind of lubricant do you use for your machines? "

"LIGHT"

@DemonPig666

No way we’re getting hard light bridges irl before Portal 3

@Tibbles-h4m

No way we managed to slow the fastest thing in the universe to a solid before gta 6 😭🙏

@trainerred1345

One step closer to getting those Halo Energy Swords.

 "On the blood of our fathers. On the blood of our suns, we swore to uphold the Covenant."

@professorsypher6174

I really feel like there is a more complicated and honest explanation for this.

@samrude001

Only time machine left before GTA 6

@FauxHammer

You had me at “better lubricants”

@Nexil_

Of all the sci fi stuff ive seen this year i didnt expect hardlight tech just yet honestly.

@joshuabloedow8024

Very cool. I looked over the article. This means there is fluid properties. And if we can slow the speed of light to stop. That may be useful in ways people never thought of.

@gaganbabu4009

So light saber!

@ultrariatech

We got frozen light before GTA 6

@Laterite_Plaza

“Meaning it was both a LIQUID and a SOLID—“

Me: *METAL GEAR—*

@godoftune

Correct me if im wrong guys but Light is energy not matter so it’s not “freezable”. To slow down the particles in that space would just create the dimming or absence of light.
