@BeenThereDundas

Your skylight is leaking and your going to regret ignoring it. Water damage is fucking brutal. You definitely have mold behind the drywall. Get your landlord to deal w that shit immediately

@misfortune50

MY EXPERIENCE: I tried betterhelp for 2 months before reporting my therapist for being DRUNK during our sessions. My assigned "therapist" was in her early 20s and canceled 3 weeks of our sessions (with no refund) because she went on vacation. During one of our sessions, she left 20 minutes early because she was going to a party. SHE STARTED PRE-GAMING THE PARTY DURING OUR SESSION.

@wizmizz

i felt crazy when i started seeing betterhelp sponserships again cuz i was like "didn't they get into a huge company-ending scandal years ago?!??!" and it felt like NO ONE else realized!!
edit: ppl were getting butt hurt that i used the word cancelled. it was the first word that came to mind. i dont like that word either

@leporellothegoldfinch

I tried BetterHelp sometime in 2018, thinking I might have depression. After chatting with a "therapist" for half an hour, he told me: "You're not depressed, your life just sucks." I took it at face value and got my act back together. Someone else with an actual mental condition might not be so lucky.

@CJ-ht4rf

Danny Gonzalez did a video with them as a sponsor, got lots of feedback from his subscribers, and removed the sponsorship and returned the money all within a couple days. He even made a public statement on his channel. So he is literally the ONLY creator I respect in all this. I've lost a lot of respect for a lot of creators for continuing to take these sponsorships

@BigRigCreates

Just signed to a talent agency this week, and the first thing I told them was "I refuse to take a Better Help sponsorship".

@StaleOreoGd

Anthony Padilla will never stop using them until the end of time. Every video he has done for the past two years has a better help sponsor

@SmugLilBugger

"I do not hold these Youtubers accountable"
I don't know, man. I get it for a Raid: Shadow Legends ad, I really do - the money has to flow since Youtube's suits are predatory and selfish... but come on, man. A Youtuber that takes a sponsorship from a company claiming that they're psychologists and able to help people with mental problems?

This goes way beyond a simple sponsorship. Youtubers SHOULD be held accountable for selling snake oil to the mentally ill. This is a HUGE moral issue compared to other sponsorships!

@ExceptBacon

It’s funny that it’s hard to listen to a video criticizing Betterhelp, because I’ve subconsciously conditioned myself to skip their ad reads, so effectively, their name alone makes my thumb twitch.

@DrKoneko

The worst thing is that Jacksfilms apologized and then years later took their sponsorships again. That's what's really heartbreaking to me as a fan of his.

EDIT: It seems as though Jack thought betterhelp had improved, took their sponsorships again, and then found out about the issues. He's done with them but can't say much about it right now.

@siriusraycraft5263

General rule of thumb, never buy anything a YouTuber tells you to

@isabellagraces5165

5:00 The eating disorder one is so scary since companies will specifically target those with eating disorders. I never got more ads about weight loss supplements, calorie apps, etc, than when I’d research EDs or was struggling with one.

@EveloGrave

I knew BetterHelp was bad when I filled out the questionaire and was told I was too high risk. That is fine but you are suppose to direct them to proper services not just say they are high risk and leave.
"Hey man, I am thinking of ending my life, I could use some help." "Oh wow, I am not going to be responsible for that! Later."
Edit: Yes, I am mostly better. Thank you for asking. Got medication and it works wonders.

@AmiCestLaVie

My betterhelp therapist went on a long racist rant about Indians during our session, knowing full well that I'm Indian... Another time she told me my childhood trauma was my fault and it's my responsibility to reconnect with my abusive mom. Honestly, no therapy is better than betterhelp.

@tinnussy

I felt like i was the only one who remembered the scandal and i was very confused when youtubers started promoting BetterHelp again. Do youtubers do no research at all???

@jackmccarthy2761

I stopped listening to Anthony Padilla’s podcasts because hearing that “existing is exhausting” on a regular basis genuinely hurt my day to day mental health. If you hear something enough times, you start to believe it.

@dumbalek6001

The funny thing is when i tried to comment ANYTHING about better help and their scandal with the FTC on Anthony's channel it got instantly deleted ❤

@daysandwords

Yes! They offered me more than twice as much as I've ever been offered on a sponsored spot, but they kept ignoring my requests to actually try it out for myself... So when I went looking for some independent reviews, I found it was pretty messy so yeah, I didn't do it.

One little thing that I'm sure you guys did consider, but therapy in Belgium is probably cheaper than in some places, because I'm guessing it's got some government subsidy, right? (This totally doesn't excuse Better Help... but yeah. In Australia, 2 sessions a month would be about $280 AU ($190 US).)

@89ji36

I pay $120 total for FOUR 60 minute sessions a month with an in office therapist who also offers online/phone appointments and I'm in Texas of all places...had no idea how expensive BetterHelp was thats so ridiculous

@DeVoidAS

Why are we not holding these creators accountable?

How do you take a sponsorship without actually knowing their background???
