This basically runs down to this, James had issues with his mom and left his home when he was young, as he got older, he started to regret the way he treated her and he was the typical rebellious teen, when he finally realized what he did was wrong, his mom passed from cancer and it was too late, this is James shedding his tears and being theraputic to himself, telling his mom to move on and he's also showing remorse for the way he acted Never take your family, friends, or loved ones for granted, you never know when they will go away
This song is a masterpiece, very emotional 😠God bless all the mamma’s !
Not only do "The Loads" contain some of the best and most diverse songs Metallica ever crafted. But they also contain, along with The Black Album, pretty much the deepest lyrics James Hetfield ever wrote. They may well have "abandoned thrash" during the 90s, cut their hair, played different styles of rock/metal, etc. But I'll always be glad they did. Because it made their catalogue that much richer. And I would not have wanted to miss out on masterpieces like this.
Such a beautiful song from the greatest Metal Band.

Lost my mom in 2018 at 8 years old. This song down to the "left home at an early age" relates to me. I got disowned, that's why I relate to it.
I love this song
anytime I hear this song I think about my mom everyday and she is still alive and I want my stepson to listen to this song so he can realize what it means to have loving parents
Excellent sound quality
