This biologist needs to study his facts better. Chickens are wild birds so that blows his information. Also he doesn't live with these snakes nor has his children playing near them. I think the population of these snakes needs to be thinned out there is an overgrowth of them
videos like this are really insulting, anyone that has experienced a wild reticulated python understands they are deadly predators. in the snake world a rarity as they kill not for food, but just because they can. smaller adult snakes are 11 feet on length, weigh over 18 lbs on an empty stomach and will strike and constrict for 3 hours after culled. these snakes also, unlike most have two lungs and can stay hidden underwater for a longer time than many other snakes. they are fast if they decide to flee, but most actually fight when approached. these don’t always lay in wait to strike, they see their prey and aggressively keep attacking, unlike most constricting snakes. these are no known natural predators to manage adult populations. unless the snake has been caught after being poisoned by eating a rat that had consumed rat poison, the entire snake is made use of. it is worse that people sit around and judge poor people for working for small income, in their air conditioned offices, sponsored by some NGO that waste so much of the donations they receive. stop posting online, go see the people struggling to survive in these economies, tell them in person you disapprove of their employment. why don’t you provide them with alternate incomes?
Wait if there's a European market for snake leather, doesn't that mean if Florida commercializes snake hunting enough, we could make a market for it in Germany. Since in Florida it's an invasive and dangerous pest there won't be as much of a conflict in selling the skin as it won't go to waste, and with a larger and easily accessed product it'll naturally remove the Indonesian python trade as it's rarer and a native snake thus you're harming the environment while with Florida you're saving it. At the same time with a smaller market there will be less of a value for Indonesian pythons thus helping the native population and environment. It's just a thought tho.
Don't kill them first. Cook them first. That way, their meat can feed millions of hungry children in this area regularly bitten and digested by these greediest predators of the world.
I’m more curious about why there’s such a great focus on banning the skins from Malaysia.
Does anyone know where we can buy a real snakeskin jacket. I would like a white and black one.
Those palm oil farms are the worst. Watch the video in that.
Human suppose to be more protected than these animals. In Florida, they are invasive.
How are you going to try and convince someone that a python isn't dangerous when he lives in this country and knows exactly what happens. Ppl want to go based off studies but u can't convince me that they aren't dangerous. The teacher is scared for a reason
If only these hypocrites that loves and wants to protect animals could extend this love to their fellow humans
Come to Florida we'd be happy for you take as many as you like they're an invasive species here!!
Just got me some python cowboy boots. And man. I need another pair. And prolly line my roof liner in my truck with python as well.
They are at their best as a handbag.
Dudes going to take all the snake skin trade for himself.
Florida has a trove of supply they would be thrilled to donate to fashion.
Nice hat , boots and suit jackets
I believe the anaconda is larger than the python.
I don’t like snakes personally. But to kill them to make items for humans is really sad. The skins patterns are beautiful but leave them alone. Admire from afar. Man’s huge ego to gather “things” is disgusting.
Who cares......go to florida...they make badass shoes
