@Huron-i2f

"How do you know he's Barrio 18?" "Well ma'am he has it tattooed on his forehead "

@ginagee8737

I've had to rewatch given recent events. Very informative as per Simon

@Eggly69

My sisters husband never let my sister go to El Salvador with him. He said she would likely be targeted, kidnapped, abused and sold or killed.
Last year he finally got to take her and she got to meet his family for the first time. The system works

@MisakaMikotoDesu

The algorithm needs to bless this video.

@dominickdecker5887

I feel like I find a new Simon channel every few months. A welcome surprise!

@oz9884

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -Benjamin Franklin

An attack on human rights anywhere is an attack on human rights everywhere. El Salvador may have built CECOT to eliminate gangs and achieved that goal to some degree, but they are now proudly in the center of an egregious case of international human rights abuse.

@Fishpasta4

I mean on the surface the conditions are horrific and can very well be called draconian.
But the reality is that CECOT only exists because the gangs made an environment where it was necessary for it to exist.
The harsh conditions are the state providing it is in control, not the gangs and the dramatic drop in the murder rate reflects this.

@bsmarsch

The prison is hardly a secret. It's been toured, celebrated, and duplicated. I love it.

@zachf3788

Well this video is going to become a very interesting subject on another of Simon's channels given current events

@jameshw9751

Young men and children are forced under threat of death to join these gangs. Then they are locked up in a place like this. It is a fallacy to believe these are all evil monsters. Families send their kids north to the US to save their lives, then they are taken to this hellhole anyway. Something is very wrong here.

@travistyler3552

This video takes on new meaning considering everything going on in the US.

@TheMightymolar

In 2005, I stayed one night in San Salvador. I got some dinner and went back to my hotel straight away. I did not go to a bar that night! I look forward to visiting again and not being terrified.

@gwynn2528

Wouldn’t go to El Salvador because of the gangs and now wouldn’t go because of CECOT. One in six being innocent is horrific odds. I’m glad for the people there who are now able to live in peace and for those kids who won’t become gang members.

@skiie

Atleast start due process for the guys who dont have tattos lmao

@P13586

CECOT: a modern day Oubliette.

@lewiemcneely9143

When I was in Army I was thinking of 'flexing my wings' TILL I got a close look at Leavenworth. I quickly realized I could stay on the outside or be on the INSIDE! I've been a good little boy ever since.

@thepax2621

One can dislike the method and crticise it as well... But one has to admit that its apparently effective 🤷🏻‍♀️

@vroomoon

Here we are 6 months later. Low and behold, it's been turned into a literal concentration camp FOR AMERICANS. Piles of dead bodies and all.

Simon, PLEASE make a video on one of these channels (like Warographics or something) about the current connotations of CECOT.

@JimSlaughter-c3k

There should be prisons like CECOT in the United States. If there were, I think criminal activity in this country would definitely decrease.

@LegsAkimbo

I didn't expect to like this prison or the government that built it, but I do. If this prison truly works then it should be closing its doors to new inmates within a generation.
