@davidwit7749

Sure the protagonist has lots of awesome technological abilities, but he'll be the first to tell you "I never asked for this."

@cosmicblizzard9459

Writing is easy. You just stare at your computer screen and bang your head on the desk and wish for the sweet release of death.

@pretzelbomb6105

I think it would be cool to see a story where it seems to start all dark and gritty, but then a public announcement comes on and says the power should be back up and running in a few minutes.

@Zymemaru

"Takes place in the future where corporations finally defeated ad block once and for all" NOOOOOOOOOO!

@DanielSwindlehurst

Remember to get the Frankenstein moral wrong too, because you've never read the book and you've only seen the films, and all the films get it wrong.

@purplehaze2358

Cyberpunk: Actively hates the technology of focus
Steampunk: Loves it so much that it’s literally the only focus of the story

@oofouchowie6425

At least you know about the most important part of cyberpunk

@FestusOmega

I want to see a cyberpunk story set in rural Wyoming.

What? It's not like the rest of the world goes away when the dystopian megalopolises are built.

@catscroissants6816

This is good, but it’s missing the endless game-breaking glitches and Keanu Reeves.

@Khorne_of_the_Hill

You forgot to mention that the city should be vaguely Asian, but with white people

@ChibiRuah

"why have characters with limits when you can have the illusions of limits and just have our hero be overpowered?" sounds like alot of anime I know XD.

@hrgrhrhhr

"Bunch of Asian countries who cares"
Have you forgotten how many cyberpunk writers are Japan-obsessed weebs?

@brownie_x

I think cybernetics could be a way for the ones in power to slowly gain control of each person. Like a cybernetic eye would up saturation on brands it approves of and desaturate those it doesnt, subtly influencing the user, or an arm would work funny with one brand's stuff and fine with another. And the more cybernetics you have the more ways you can be influenced while thinking your thoughts are your own.

@alexanderchippel

I have an idea for a cyber punk novel. It's about a bunch a companies that promise innovation, but only deliver subpar, inefficient technology, wasting everyone's time an money. You want a new cybernetic arm? Sure, but it can't lift anything heavier than a half empty soda can and is prone to catching fire and occasionally exploding because it uses a lithium batter the size of cinder block. You want a self driving car? Sure, but it always takes an obscure route and isn't programmed to to pull over if being pursued by a police car, so every time your taillight is out you get into an unwilling high speed pursuit.

I like how the glasses make him look like he's blushing.

The constant use of "sentience" when people mean "sapience" drives me absolutely bonkers.

@GhostW1thTheMost

this actually works as both a funny youtube series AND a reverse psychology writing tutorial.

@Strangest_Luck

When I saw "Neo Euro Union" on the map, I thought, "It'd probably just be easier to call it the "Neuropean Union," which would actually be an interesting nickname for the nation if this union consisted of a society that's fully embraced (or even fully enforced) neurological cybernetic implants before any other nation.

@gumzillaxtreme5240

"Can I f*** it?" Fandoms in a nutshell.

@akromakroma

No mention of a love triangle in the first 60 seconds. Bad terrible writing advice.
