@IneptOrange

"Yo what is this rock?" holding the rock
"Uranium"

@idkwuzgoinon

It’s like a parent surprising you with a random gift lol I love it.

@IExistSometimes

It's a fluorescent sodalite, I think he thought it was a bunch of oxides because he googled "yooperlite composition" or similar, and rock compositions are often reported by weight % oxides, rather than mineral

@quillclock

gotta love a chemist saying "its just magic"

@GladSadMadBad

Nigel's smile is so nice to look at

@FF23392

Imagine he just smashed Nile’s counter and gave it to him in a box

@mrhomely

Yooper, you were right the first time. It's named after people from the upper peninsula of Michigan called Yoopers. I guess some guy was using a black light to look for agetes in lake Superior and thought the black light might help. It didn't help with the agetes but he made a wonderful discovery.

@Dalynx09

Imagine buying a countertop and it turns out to be made of these glowy rocks, imagine just going late at night into the kitchen with a dark light and they just start fluerescing like there was no tomorrow lmfao

@sams.3552

Nile is really taking these rocks for granite

@JustDumbLuck

When the scientist says it's magic i feel very tried for humanity

@GeoffShouldWin

Weird compliment but Nigel you have a good and natural smile. We don't see those as often as on social media

@staratmidnight7

Yooperlite, from the Michigan Upper Peninsula (UP)! Folks there call themselves "Yoopers."

@ronnoc_0999

As a geology enthusiast from michigan, this is indeed yooperlite. (Yuu-per-lite) it glows under black light on the Great Lakes, which is we’re it’s found. Also known as fluorescent sodalite.

@ThinkICanSing25

Okay I had to look at the comments just to see if anyone else love his smile. Great videos, great experiments, and a great smile. Just overall he seems like a great guy to know in and outside of the lab.

@borjojo

Its always the eager smile for me ☺️

@shionashiel

stuffs like these are why i love rocks. rocks are cool. give love to the rocks you find, they've probably been here for million years more than us

@xivk1

bro Nigel’s smile got me folded real quick

@Sealington

i have some stuff like this. it glows green in much smaller amounts like that under a black light

@robertocabrera6020

when a chemist doesnt know what it is it instantly passes from being science to being just magic

@ancientdictator

Dud got the sweetest smile
