The switch from John to Paul is like going from a slow motion walk on a rainbow in space to a jolly walk in the park on a sunny day.

“Starr is vastly underrated. The drum fills on the song “A Day in the Life” are very complex things. You could take a great drummer today and say, ‘I want it like that.’ He wouldn’t know what to do.” – Phil Collins

@YourFriendlyOnlineStranger

Most relatable Beatles lyric: "I read the news today, oh boy."

@LizBizBean

Absolutely adoring how they just kept the record-repeating joke in the final cut of one of the most important rock/psychedelic songs of all time

@davesigmon8144

A mini movie of modern day reality. John's chillingly alienated vocal and the ending, pounding piano chord say it all. The Beatles masterpiece.

@d0ntletmed0wn

i don’t have words to explain how much i love this song

@lloydzilinski4401

This song was declared the #1 song in rock history by "The History of Rock and Roll" which was a syndicated production that was many hours long and aired over thousands of radio stations all over the English speaking world. I was a teenager then and listened to that entire production religiously. This song was far ahead of its time and its complexity makes a mockery of what passes for music these days. In my opinion it is still probably one of the ten best rock songs ever recorded and putting it in the context of the technology available back then compared to what is now available this song may well be still the best and most important song recorded in the history of rock and roll.

@jvidal519

After all these years i still get goose bumps when john’s voice comes in at the beginning. There is talent and then there is genius

@GaryBarlow-h6t

If I had to pick one song that says everything about The Beatles it is this one. Ahead of its time. Experimental, a mix of many genres in one song (kind of 2 songs in one really with the hand off from John to Paul. Rock n Roll meets Jazz meets symphony orchestra. I love the piano in the background all the way through. Absolute brilliance and genius.

@Darin.Pearson

Ringo's softness in his playing is so important and impressive in this song. The gentleness of the drum strikes and cymbal crashes are spectacular.

@victorianmariner

"I read the news today, oh boy." -Me every day this year finding about the new obstacle 2020 is throwing at us

This band did a lot in 10 years and it is all so fucking good.

@grizzworld

A Day In The Life .... One of Ringo's best performances

@fredflintstone1428

I never realised how good the drumming is on this track. Ringo suited The Beatles down to the ground.

@chuckpotockimusic2288

John's vocals are so haunting on this, absolutely hair raising...this is the greatest song ever written.

@GeorgeF.106

This song reminds that we get too embedded in the things that don't matter. That every second of life counts, and that if You don't stop, open up Your mind, and look at the big picture once in awhile, that life will pass You by.

@scry.tontraeger

i love the effect ohn johns voice

@gabrielhoefle

1967, was 18 yrs old, had a smoke, put on my headphones and went into a dream...

@NJF60

Probably the BEST song ever recorded, by the band who changed the World. Thank you 🙏 John, Paul, George and Ringo🎼🎶🎸🎤🥁

@richardmeager2005

Ringo’s drumming on this track is out of this world! Even Phil Collins is in awe of his drumming!
