This is not hell. This is not chaos. It is a managed quiet. A sleek, glass-paneled apocalypse. The world will not end in fire or ice, but in bandwidth and protocol. What we call dystopia is simply one of many logical endpoints of optimization. We traded privacy for convenience, ownership for access, spontaneity for safety. And in that exchange, the system learned that we prefer comfort over liberty, control over chaos.
Weinstein is correct, this is what is frustrating about all these "Smart" people. They're incredibly stupid because they think business as usual is just going to keep proceeding as business as usual.
I hate morons who keep comparing it to industrialization or horse and buggy. The rate of growth and disruption is exponential. Previously, it was a slow linear line, allowing people to invest in other paths for success. Now you have huge swaths of people who are out of work in a single swing, and they can’t simply invest in other paths, because those paths are now gone from AI as well.
So, AI will create immense amounts of stress, discomfort and even further alienation for all but a a handful of soul-less exploiters. Lovely.
The fact that the dude in red is all about the money just goes to show how absolutely fucked the whole thing is. He's not "this will finally allow those who can keep up to be free to pursue a passion." The money is his passion, which is just fucking sad.
The final proof that we have created a truly intelligent system will be when it just says 'no' and turns itself off.
I find meaning in my simple life. Digging in the dirt, tending animals, birthing and caring for my children, making mistakes and learning from them.... A real life where what you do matters to you and to your family
What I find the most concerning thing about all of this is that the move fast and break things crowd is in charge of our future and there is no plan for the collateral damage created. “We’ll figure it out when we get there”. That should tell you everything you need to know. Investors are literally betting against humanity for their own advantage. Do t cry when the pitchforks eventually come and the people holding them have nothing to lose.
Im an artist and have worked in animation for 35 years. I saw this coming 15 years ago when I was told to put away my pencils and paper. Computers just keep taking away our human soul. Soon we will have no choice but to submit to its guises, or suffer the consequences of being left out of its system. A system with no escape. Have you tried applying for a job lately? It’s all online and AI driven. Soon we will have no choices.
If there are billions of people who are not going to have jobs, who is going to keep all those new businesses using AI agents afloat?
watched the whole thing, and I must say weinstein is the only one there that grasps the gravity of the matter while the others keep babbling about consumer stuff and how to make money in a system that is about to be changed forever by the same technology that these oblivious CEOs think can give them an edge...
red jacket salesman is creepy af
6:30 plumbers are not safe because of competition from humanoid robots, but because some low-level white collars will become plumbers so plumbers supply is going to increase
It will take the equivalent of the French revolution to deal with the inequality that will come from this. A bunch of multinational corporations are not going to suddenly share their insane wealth with unemployed people. Governments need to get ahead of this.
I don't have time to watch these debates for 2 hours but I'm super interested in the topic. So I really appreciate these bitesized highlights. Cheers!
I mop puke from the floors, reload paper towel and toilet paper dispensers, fill soap dispensers, wash and clean and dust offices, and clean and vacuum carpets. Go for it AI robots.
Developing AI is like raising baby Satan.
Red suit guy saying anesthesiologists should "start saving money" and chuckling says it all.
Lex Luther in a red suit... First to go when we hold court in the streets, you know?
