Chick's first section and accompaniment for Wooten and McLaughlin was great. Wow.
Thanks to whoever recorded this!
Chick and John have a fistbump at the end, two masters who have seen it all in music. Two survivors.
i love how happy john looks watching vic solo. 2 masters admiring each others' craft
Once in a while the entity called "John McLaughlin 1974" astral projects himself into our present moment to remind us of our potential... and the need to practice more often.
The Blue Note is amazing. Up close and personal with the greats
how incredibly beautiful those instruments are
Ooooh man, why didn’t we get proper recordings of this band?? Love everything about it, literally everything. Vic Friggin’ Wooten bowing his fretless bass. Mahavishnu faithful to the composition while making it very much his own. But probably my favorite thing is the genuine smile on his face, watching Vic play that fantastic solo. I’m torn because i wish this person had been in the moment at the performance rather than filming. But at the same time... man, i’m glad i got see and hear it!
This is pure delight.
I enjoyed very much this version of this Chick's composition... Also I enjoyed watching the face of the most tasteless woman in the entire, probably, NYC!!! :-)
That song...and with John...man!
Fantastic, brilliant, superb, marvellous and all the other superlatives!
Wonderful to see VW enjoy playing the fretless bass with two evergreen innovators. Thanks for posting.
Every few Generations comes a Soul who's Perceptions & Achievements are like Mutations in Evolution! One could rattle off a few names that have come before Armando Anthony "Chick Corea" Mozart, Chopin, Debussy, Tatum, Peterson, But you would be hard pressed to name one since him, Chick you were Brilliant & will be Sorely Missed
well that was a treat!!!
Thank you for capturing this moment.
Victor Wooten is a bad ass. Well OK, all of them are but that bowed bass part is pretty cool.
Wow! The Masters. I love that Chick has to read his stuff. He's written a HUGE collection of great music...no way he could have all of that memorized. Fantastic band! Absolute Genii!
Too bad John was hiding behind the music stand. Thanks for sharing.
