@WonderWhy

Really excited about this video, it's been one I've been wanting to make for years, so I'm glad I've finally gotten around it doing it. In this video, I look at some of my favourite flags that I've come across over the years.

After listening to an audiobook about flags, now seemed like the perfect time to finally make my vexilollogy video. Audible is the sponsor of this video, and right now they're doing a special holiday offer in which you can get 3 months of Audible for just $6.95 per month. Signing up via my unique link really helps out the channel - http://audible.com/wonderwhy

At the end of the video, I recommened the audiobook "Worth Dying For: The Power and Politics of Flags", written by Tim Marshall (author of the fantastic Prisoners of Geography). Would highly recommened both of them.

Really hope you all enjoy this video, it was a ton of fun to make. It's always great to make a video about something that I'm passionate about! I'll have another video before the end of the year, so I'll see you all then! Thanks for watching!

Sri Lanka: How about a lion holding a sword? That sounds easy.

@JackHadders

Finally, another WonderWhy video - see you next year everyone!

“For example, the flag of Estonia. One of my personal favourites.”

happy Estonian squealing

@shayne2955

as a filipino, theres a certain kind of fear evoked when we see the red of the flag on top, even if it's just mistakenly flipped by someone who has no idea

@mucksamlimbu8917

The meaning of sun and moon on Nepal flag blew my mind

@johnchessant3012

3:28 Actually, that's almost correct. The flag of Saudi Arabia has "different" obverse and reverse sides as well, but that's only to make sure that on both sides, the inscription and the sword both point to the left, in the direction of the Arabic script.

@youwerethere

Bahrain Flag: You're weak.
Qatar Flag: I'm you, but maroon.

@DfortheWin100

Im always glad to see a well made video on vexillology, one of my fav topics

Turkmenistan: How about a moon, some stars and these epic 4 carpet thingies? They have lots of shapes, won't be too hard to remember the detail.

@killercaos123

My favorite: Wales

Obviously. Red Dragons are Epic on a flag.

Here’s how you make a good flag

Nepal: How about No

@crosh3301

Yes, in Soviet Russia our flag is the clouds on top, the blue sky in the middle, and red for the blood of war.
