I do have the Helen Joseph Armstrong and the Winifred Aldrich, after watching your video, I decided to go to Helen Joseph one and I find it easier than the Winifred Aldrich and am enjoying it now. Sewing can put you off, so thank you for the motivation to proceed. I want to make a few skirts.
Such a class act video. Thank you Tammy.
Thank you for posting this
Another very informative video đ â thank you Tammy!! I have the 3rd edition of the Helen Joseph Armstrong book from ebay and 2 Vogue fitting books I found at the thrift store. The grading book would be on my Christmas wish list! Practice makes perfect should be our motto for us self-taught seamstresses! I do sewing alterations on the side, yet one day I aspire to have my own pattern line. Thanks for all your inspiration, Tammy! â¤đ
You presented appreciate books.Thank you. Happy new year.
EXCELLENT recommendations and descriptions of books!
Thank you for a thoughtful and thorough review!
Brilliant, thanks for sharing. Grading is something I've struggled with and finding good information, so this book recommendation is fab.
Thank for those great tips
Thanks for the video. I was just recently wondering what books I should get for making a block and learning pattern adjusting & fitting. Iâm a 52 year old male thatâs interested in making menâs clothing for myself or my sons as a home sewer (not planning on becoming a fashion designer/seller/business owner/seller). What would your books recommendations list look like for men? Are there books youâd recommend that are focused more on menâs bloc making, pattern making, fitting and adjustments? I ask because there seems to be so many sleeve, bust, skirt, womenâs fashion related information I wouldnât need and hope to find instruction tailored to men. Thanks:)
Thanks for this â¤
You can take a flimsy book to your big box office supply store and they often can cut the spine and spiral bind it.
Itâs great that you are self taught. I am self taught in many things including sewing. I would like to point out that being only self taught there is no point of reference as to what it would be like to be trained professionally, and not just learning from books by professionals. I love learning from books but sometimes we donât know what we donât know so itâs good to keep an open mind. We can never compare to those who learn and work in the industry professionally, whatever skill we apply this concept to. Thank you for your videos. Itâs been interesting following your sewing journey. đ
Bunka bodice is a really good source for basic sloper for women esp for busty girls as it has many darts. I tried helen josep but it ended up being so loose on my bust area..
Thanks for your generous sharing. Wonder if it's better off to get a hard copy of the books rather than their e-book versions?
Thanks for sharing but which books do you recommend for fashion school in Nigeria
Your class looks fun you have. Ever run sales? $400 so expensive for me. Is it only in metric or inches too? I've taken classes in metric and i have to keep using google to find the measurements in inches.
Which edition is the Helen Joseph Armstrong book since they do vary somewhat? Would really love to know.
Which book is easy to understand for beginners?
