What a sensible CEO, talking like a professional money manager.
So, happy to see that in competitive places like Singapore or even Hong Kong, those with talent do well in finance and banking, irrespective of religion, caste, creed, colour or race.

@gh8066

the difference in depth of thought about the market despite "i come from a banking background" is night and day. Suhaimi is head and shoulders above but was kind enough to entertain ms sim here.

@Watt-watt

Inspiring figure for the Malay community in Singapore. Anyone can be someone regardless of your race and background. Awesome!

@clusterpuff

Hmmm qns I would have asked:
1. Succession planning for the firm
2. Views on lowering the barriers to entry for retail investors who wish to enter the hedge fund space
3. What do they look for when hiring for talent?
4. How did Suhaimi transition from a legal background to finance/quant trading ?
5. What inspires him/motivates him?
6. Any plans to introduce their strategies using an ETF wrapper?
7. How does he identify philanthropic causes to give back to? (could be a massive headache picking the right cause + lots of administrative work)
8. Portfolio allocation between the asset classes
9. Portfolio rebalancing
10. How do they measure risk/reward
11. Views on the current global macro environment

(Maybe this production is targeted towards the general public and they decided not to go so in depth)

@kenyoung6666

Wise guy, he respects market instead of arrogantly going against it thinking he'll be able to win! No wonder Quantedge has been doing well for so long. I also bet he hires the right people, those who actually make money.

@ggg1815

Way better than all insurance agents in Singapore

@razjackson5825

Wondering if they extensively use Monte Carlo approximations to assign probabilities and model the risk spread of/in different markets? When I was last working in SG I heard rumblings of this happening and picking up.

@hanst7218

Did they include a risk free rate whe calculating the Sharpe ratio? Quick math I see 20% return with 25-30% annualized volatility.
Probably this suggest probably theyaee just using leverage to generate these kind of returns given the volatility.

@xeenslayer

Portfolio Management classes with Prof Chua Choong Tze was the best! Like if you know who he is!

@swaminathangnanasambandam5384

How much minimum needed to invest in the fund?
1 million?

@antonioorsini579

Nice interview, not sure I love the format with the focus on the food and the intro on the restaurant, but the interview and the explanatory material was really great! thank you!

Great concept of pairing good food and surroundings with a conversation with C-Suite Execs at funds

@herryanil4669

Invested in bitcoin since 2017? Wonder how that's looking at the moment :D

@AlexVoxel

This was a very good interview!

@AS-yg5dt

@garysnieblay569

3 million to 3 billion is impressive but still small enough fund if there strategy folds they could lose everything.
