My brother introduced me to this album, hell, before he dragged me to my first concert in Kitchener. Underage with a fake ID, The Weakerthans highlighting. I am sitting here in my "IT'S NICE TO MICHOU" T-shirt from the band that opened for them. Also cannot forget the man who mumbled through most introductions but highlighted the night with the punchline, "Two liquid Advil, two shots of Wild Turkey, just enough Loosey-Goosey and Shazz-abazz to get you through the day". In short, this is my second go at college, blowing the dust off this album and getting through the grind with patience and the hope that springs deftly from these desperate tunes. I love it, and cannot thank you enough. All the best, start a reunion tour if you guys quit. Your solo act rocks, but without Rusty on the trumpet, and Christine Fellows on violin, I don't know... Awesome all the same. Stay classy Mr. John K. Samson, and all my best.

The first verse is a reference to GTA San Andreras, pointing out how he wasted away most of university getting high and playing GTA and not preparing for his Mater Thesis. so yes and no, the song isn't about Grand Theft Auto, but it does reference GTA "Oh the streets of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas fill with smoke Doorbell rings I put my controller down and pick it up Shoot some things"
