Thank you for your response. If I repeat the process twice, my total outstanding mortgage would be $800,000. However, this would mean that I had borrowed $400,000 from each lender, which is not the case as my house is valued at $400,000.

Thank you for the informative video. I have a question regarding my two 1098 forms. I purchased my house in March 2022 and received two forms from two different lenders. Boxes 2 and 3 are identical on both forms. Please advise me on how to enter these 1098 forms in TurboTax correctly. Thank you.

Hi Justin your video has been very helpful to me in my situation thank you very much, but I still have a concern, my son and I we bought a home in 08/2022 both of us are in the deedI i the only one who received the 1098 form with my name and SSN, so we decided that I will be the one who is claiming the credits this year, I will enter the 1098 information in my tax return but in his tax return how do I answer the question “ Did you pay any loans in 2022? in turbo tax if I select “ No “turbo tax doesn’t ask me for any 1098 if I select “ yes “turbo tax will ask me for 1098 information can I just enter zeros in his 1098 information would you give me an advice thank you.

Thank you for your video very well explained. One question. Can I deduct business property tax, mortgage interest?

What happen if me and my wife name is on the 1098 form but we file "married file separately"? Thanks.

I received 2 1098 forms because the orginal loan was sold to another lender. Both the forms have points in box 6 with same dollar amount. Do I enter the same points amount twice in turbotax by having 2 different 1098 forms for different lender.
